I'd be looking at a driver update. Since once it fails again you are unable to get into windows to check if WU has installed a windows or new driver update, while it's working you can Pause Windows updates. Then disable "include drivers with windows update" Once you've done that you can manually scan for updates and see if it finds any driver updates and gives you the option of installing them. They will show up under advanced options>optional updates.

I think it's safe to say there is something possibly catastrophically Wrong. There is only one fix for this. I disconnect my other two drives from the system and do a clean install. Trying to find workarounds is futile. Starting from scratch is sometimes the best solution. Thank You all for trying to help me through this. But this is I think is the only solution.

There're possible hw causes for this, like PSU. I had "frequent" shutdowns or restarts (I don't remember well) in a system with defective RAM time ago (I had upgraded it, used it some weeks, I eventually found good modules and the problem went away). I could ascertain that they happened b/c the mobo had dropped the disk: under a boot media the system did neither shut down nor restart, but a "disk not found" kind of error could happen and the disk had just dissapeared from the menus.

I always verify my images. I don't even consider to have an image if it isn't verified. My current tool at least does the same consideration and deletes the image if it fails the verification (I have never set or run any imaging tool in situations where you'd prefer a different behaviour, like cloning disks with failures or dying, trying to rescue data in emergency).

The verification checks the image against its own redundancy stored in the image itself. Failures can happen for media problems or for system problems. I'd verify the same images again to detect the former; "media" problems can be "surface" problems (defective sectors) or "interface" problems (random failures in auxiliary circuitry, similar to system problems but fixed if you replace the disk with a good one).

Verification failures aren't frequent here but I consider the causes here are "hw random errors", a very broad concept as for "how do I avoid them?" (with them "avoided" or not, always verify, it's simply part of the imaging task, unfinished images are worth nothing). In past times (decades ago) this has been overclocking here, modernly it's just imperfect hw.

Hw/Sw influence: I had more verification failures w/ 24H2 than w/ any other Win11 version (and also more random BSODs and freezes, but always in the "infrequent" zone). 25H2 is "rock stable" until now. There're zillions of possible explains for this and it hasn't to be the same in all systems. Curiously, my Windows 10 system is worse than this one in stability, but it has never failed an image verification.

I can confirm Windows 11 will start to function with something that resembles reliability after its ability to update is turned off. In fact it's kind of nice to go nearly a year without waking up to a new kind of bloat...

Lance, have you tried using bcdedit and/or some kind of boot menu editor program like EasyBCD to get rid of the unnecessary boot entry?

WEll... I found the problem. And unfortunately it is one of the most expensive components of my system. My boot NVME. I pulled it out of my system. I installed Windows on my SSD on the backside of my system and presto! I am up and runing. The poblem is I paied $150 for that drive.... And could pay today cloes to $350 to $400. Well I Look at the bright side. I have a running system now.I know it sucks. Heres a pic of how it burned a hole in the thermal shield.

Well that's a bummer. You should get a gen 4 drive - twice as fast.

I am just saying what the case# says. I wouldn't believe it until I see it either, but they did give a SN that gives some hope. That would be a great deal!

In the end there's not much of a difference between the 570 and 770. One is a bit faster, yes, but both use HBM. Both are quite cheap drives.
