Does anyone know how these new update experience packs that Microsoft just announced will be delivered, do you have to do anything extra to get them or do they just come down like a regular update from windows update?

I don't think we know for certain, but I think it is very likely that they will be optional updates i.e. by the same update menus (from a gui view point even if the delivery mechanism is different). So I suspect you will have to specifically select them to get update as with other optional updates.

This would be in line with policy that security updates are automatic, and feature updates optional. I am presuming experience updates are sort of mini feature updates.
