My script as posted on TenForums stopped working a while back, because the Discord server no longer provides the download files.

GOOD NEWS. I found an alternate download source on github.io, and made major changes to the install script.
  • Games Explorer can be restored to W10 1803 (or later) and W11 hosts, and it won't break after applying any updates.
  • Language support works for non-English US locales. The script will download and extract MUI files from the W10 1709 Language Packs.
  • Fixed a major flaw in how everyone was try to install Games Explorer, which breaks W11 Explorer and Classic Ribbon.
  • Removed the need to use ExecTI, PsExec or PowerRun to install or uninstall Games Explorer.
  • Added option for a clean uninstall.
Run the new script as Administrator:

powershell -ep bypass -f RestoreUX.ps1 -Uninstall

If you're not already Administrator, the script will re-run itself with Admin rights. Like the previous script, it creates a Games Explorer shortcut on every user's Desktop and you can open Games Explorer with "start shell:games".

There are no actual games included!! But you can install WinAero's Windows 7 Games for Windows 11 pack.

Technical details:

Everyone's trying to add the Games Explorer folder icon back into imagesresdll.mun. This can lead to two major problems:

1. Applying a W10 update or running sfc /scannow can remove the icon again.
2. This action breaks W11's Explorer, and you will lose the entire Navigation Pane (shown as blank). If you're using the Classic Ribbon hack under W11, the ribbon has black squares instead of toolbar icons.

There's no need to copy it into imageresdll.mun, because the same icon is available from gameux.dll. You can change two lines in the reg file, and now imageresdll.mun doesn't need to be touched. Which makes Explorer much happier, and easier to perform a clean uninstall.

The github.io source has the exact same files as extracted from a W10 1709 ISO. You can trust the ZIP file's contents.

If not, you can switch to the Wayback Machine's archived copy if you're suspicious someone might replace them (alternate URL in source code).

But, when I download the RestoreGameUX.ps1..........it shows some codings related texts, also I don't how to use it to get Games Explorer.........Can you HELP me??

The script downloads a temporary copy of 7z.exe from GitHub (so it doesn't need for you to install the full 7-Zip app). Unfortunately, the person who I used as the source repository (abbodi1406) lost his GitHub account. I've updated the script with an alternate repo.

Download the script again, and run this version.

If you got an error the first time, it never installed. The message was from 7z.exe not found, so it couldn't extract the downloaded .rar file.

I tested the updated script, and it works fine on 25H2. Of course, there are no games included, because it's Games Explorer by itself.

No, that's not the same thing. Game Explorer is that legacy Vista/W7 feature (built into File Explorer), which went away in W10 1803. It probably doesn't work with any modern games that shipped on W10 or later. It's for pure nostalgia if you grew up running Vista or W7/8.

I SUCCESSFULLY downloaded it. But, I want to UNINSTALL it

So, I tried this code:-
powershell -ep bypass -f RestoreUX.ps1 -Uninstall

But, it didn't work. Tell me any ways to Uninstall it
