Icons have vanished from Task Bar

I am left with "ghosted" spaces that produce a name if I mouse over them - some remain but many do not.

This issue used to be fixed by simply changing a theme. Go to settings, Personalisation, scroll to Themes and expand. Make sure the theme you're on is named and saved. Under current theme select another one. See if the icons appear. Go back to your original theme. See if that works.

Also - If you know the name of the icon(s) try unpinning them and then re-pinning them to the taskbar.

Updated Windows to 22H2 about a week ago on both my machines and has been okay up until today when I see gaps in the icon spacing on the taskbar. I have tried restarting but the gaps remain. This happens on both machines. There are two user profiles on both machines and the gap appears on both...

Sadly that did not work for me either - but at least I know I am not alone in haviung these quirky undesired changes occuring!

Try hiding the taskbar and un-hiding. Rt click taskbar, taskbar settings, Taskbar behaviours.
