IDM Issues for last month

Hoping someone may know how to fix this, I have reached out to IDM support with no resolution so came here for the experts.

the last month my IDM doesnt download from certain sites like and a few others. I have been using IDM for many years and never had an issue, but now the last month I have not been able to download from here. whether it is using the capture video plug in or their download links.

i keep getting the following error SSL_connect error 1

this is the main site i use it on but noticing now a couple of download sites I use are coming up the same issue.

I have tried to remove IDM completely and just do a new install. its a lifetime license, i removed the extension and readded it back on.

I tried 2 other browsers to see if maybe it was chome but firefox and edge both have the same issue.

i checked my firewalls, and anti virus settings even temporarily shutting them off and nothing seems to fix it. IDM support told me to contact the page.

I tried a couple of episodes and they came through pretty fast.
They are coming over in *.ts format for the video part and *.vtt for the subtitles.
They also download in pairs (video + audio). First I saw the download queue :)
You select where they should be stored (file path and Category), select the two files and start the queue processing.

No SSL error anywhere. Maybe you are using some VPN server that's missing something. Try various ones if you can and see how they fare.

hi im not using a vpn mine expired and havent gotten a new one. i knew they would be ts files so now if yours are working definitely gotta be on my side and im not sure what now. i have not made any changes to anything

I downloaded a free 24 hour vpn and tried it and its works now. looks like ill have to go back to getting a vpn. thank you for the help

Hi not sure if anyone will come back to this but now i get SSL Connect error 5. my vpn trial ran out. its odd do i now need a vpn to dl from these sites or do i need to do something else

I'm pretty sure there are are enough free VPNs around to try. So, install another one, pick a server out of your area, and try again.

hi seems to be my area thats an issue its been happening to other sites as well, so today bit the bullet and reupped my surfshark subscription and everything is fine now.
