Image icons missing in Explorer

I haven't had any major updates installed recently and I'm not running any software to alter any icons in any way. How would I reset / fix this?

Try that first before we look into file association.

Thanks, tried those but no luck. I didn't go into restoring individual file extension icons as the problem struck all those associated with Photos app at once.
