I get incredibly (and painfully) sloooooow boot ups to Desktop.

Mine is an unsupported laptop but I used a workaround to install Windows 11.

Any ideas please?

Thanks.

I think an ssd is a big help - particularly for win11.
I suspect it is not a pleasant experience on a spinner.

It's unlikely to be Windows 11 per se. I run it on 3 PCs, one of which is a ten year old Dell laptop that meets almost none of the Win11 "requirements". But I have not noticed any of the PCs either booting slower or running slower, than they did under Windows 10.

Remove any unnecessary peripherals (remove any dongles, external HDDs and hubs/ docks etc.).
Use a disk checking app, preferably one that allows viewing of SMART data and disk surface reporting.
Disable all non MS start up items, unless any are critical to login process.
Check user profile for corruption, try safe mode, try a new user account.
You only need to do one at a time, if no change after one set of options do not re enable, proceed with the next test.
As has been mentioned, a spinner will be slow compared to an SSD but you also do not mention if this slow start up has only just developed after having experienced normal (for you) start up time, nor do you mention your previous OS or how that performed.
