Hi all,

I use Windows 11 Pro 22000.556. I add an excluded folder to advanced indexing and also right click, properties, advanced, and uncheck allow folder to be indexed. I also rebuild the index.

But when I search for a file, as shown in the attached pic, it still finds the file that is part of the excluded folder.

If anyone has any ideas how to prevent all files in this folder from being found in the search please let me know.

Im not sure if thats entirely possible through indexing, Put it this way, I run with indexing OFF altogether and i can still search for files/programs etc and they come up. They just aren't indexed thats all.

Thanks for the reply. I must be confused then. Is there a way to stop a folder and all files in it from being found in a search?

I even added this folder to be excluded under Privacy & Security, Searching Windows setting. Even when I hide the folder it still appears in the search.
