Getting into Safe Mode is easy with MSConfig but getting out of it is not as easy. What am I missing?

Hello Peter, :-)

The tutorial below can help show you how to boot back into normal mode from Safe mode to help.

If you like, you can use the context menu below for Windows 10 in Windows 11 to make it much easier to restart into Safe Mode and back into normal mode on demand.

Thank you Brink for those so helpful short cuts, but as an addendum I must explain why I wish to go into Safe Mode, I wish to delete the windows Old folder but cannot seem to achieve that, firstly it tells me the folder is not empty, so I go to the bottom- sub folder but then it tells me various things like stack overflows etc My file manager is Directory Opus, perhaps I should be using File Explorer, so how do I delete Windows OLD ?

You could try the options below to delete the Windows.old folder. The steps should still almost be the same in Windows 11.
