This software seems to be fine (even installs Windows 11 when the vhdx file is on an external drive)

My only concern is that the download is a .rar file which I'm always suspicious of - but proper scanning didn't detect any "nasties"

or

as with all these things A.Y.O.R of course. Test on a VM first if you are paranoid.

@jimbo

Thanks for the post. What is the use case for this tool, as compared with the MS Media Creation Tool or Rufus?

Hi there
it can create directly to a vhdx drive (external or internal) so your whole windows can install and boot to a drive that is totally vhdx. I'm running W11 plus a VM with hyper-V totally from an external NVME drive.

Here's the "C" drive with E as the actual booted drive with drive "Y" as a 2nd std disk (data) attached to the W11 system. "D" is the std recovery drive.

The whole lot boots from "E" which only has the vhdx file on it.

Media creation tool won't see any disks if it's just a vhdx disk !!! . Also this can bypass secure boot and TPM if required.
