Install Windows 11 on a PC with low specifications

Hi,I'm new here and I don't know if windows 11 will install on my PC.

My specs are the following:

CPU AMD Athlon II X2 B28 3.4GHz

GPU ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4200

RAM 4GB (3.5 GB USABLE)

If this system will not install does that mean my PC in incompatible?

It will run on that system, mine is even lower specced, but you will might have to bypass some of Microsoft'compatibilty checks.

If I can install and run windows 11 on this then it will run on almost anything!

The TPM 2.0 and CPU requirements can be bypassed with known workarounds. The only real stumbling block for older machines may be suitable graphics drivers, my example in the link above is stuck with using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. But there are Windows 8/8.1 ones for yours that should work well in Windows 10/11.

My GPU ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4200 only supports Directx 10. I thought that Windows 11 needs Directx 11 or 12.
Does that mean my GPU is incompatible with this OS?

I don't know if it still works, but some time back, I did a clean install on a non-conforming pc. Seems as how a clean install doesn't (didn't) check for new requirements.

Dunno if it will still work, but worth a try.

Just follow the advice in post 3! If it is not compatible, follow the advice in post 2. yeesh!

Stop Nit-Picking, and follow the instructions given to you already, by those who have already done it! OK?

I've just installed Win-11/Pro/64 to two old Slimline PC's, (one HP and one Acer) with BIOS dates of 2008.
And with only 4 GB of installed RAM, and 3.75 available after the NVIDEA GPU chip gets what it wants.
Win-11 will settle in and run just fine on much less resources than what Microshaft demands.
For high performance gaming, maybe not, but for the every day stuff, it will be just fine.
Try it.....you'll like it!
