Installer doesnt load

Hi. I'm trying to upgrade an old system to Windows 11. I tried Rufus and Ventoy to remove UEFI, secure boot and TPM and set it to MBR. The system boots into the installer USB drive, the installer Windows logo shows for a few seconds, and then it restarts. I cant get past that. Any ideas? Thanks

Hi, welcome.

We really need your computer specs, specifically the Make and model number of your laptop.

If your laptop doesn’t support TMP2.0, that’s fine (rufus).
If your CPU doesn’t support SSE4.2, then you’re out of luck installing 24/25H2.
23H2 isn’t an issue when it comes to SSE4.2. But as you may know, I don’t believe 23H2 is still supported.

  • Run the following command in Powershell as admin:
    • For Wim:
(Replace X with the mounted drive letter)​
dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:X:\sources\install.wim /Index:1​
