Solved Installing windows 10 on a win 11 pre installed laptop

folder thumbnails, is not Subjective, is real.

windows 10 offers this possibility and windows 11 does not. Is real.
Yes while that is you don't like that and that's the subjective bit. Others like me see that and don't care. 🤷‍♂️

yeahhh, but we are not comparing tastes, but operating systems.

i like mac and linux, but i prefer to use windows because of compatibility.

You're comparing what you like in one OS vs another one. Saying 11 is 'bad' or not 'good' should be based on functionality and not the interface. Things like does software work properly.. does the OS work properly.
And in every case 11 works just as well as 10 or better.

I agree, but I'm not the one who said that windows 11
is much better than windows 10.

when in reality it is not.

Ok.. but you have to admit that based on performance and functionality 11 is as good as 10.

yes, it depends on the hardware of each one.

I think in the future windows 11 may be better than windows 10, but for now it is not.

For now, it still has some limitations that windows 10, does not have.

My Computer

this conversation is on track..

Yes, you can install 10 on the laptop. I recommend copying %systemroot%\system32\driverstore\filerepository to external media so that you can easily resinstall all drivers via device manager after installation.

win 10 has functionality that 11 does not, such as folder thumbnails, pinning to taskbar via drop, etc. Just as 10 had functionality that 7/8.1 did not. it will always be the case with new OS. some features are deprecated and some new are added. he is correct in stating that said changes are real. whether or not people care about said changes is subjective. there; solved.

As already mentioned, it should be straightforward and cost free to revert to W10, and also just as easy in the future to change your mind and go to W11.

Windows 11 is so superior to windows 10, that you have to use third party applications and hacks to have the same features as windows 10 that already comes by default. :win:o_O

Some of us like the new features in 11.. so that makes it superior to 10.

fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

Yes. Windows 11 product keys and digital licenses will activate Windows 10 as well. Both Windows 10 and 11 use the exact same product keys and digital licenses.
Has anybody tested this e.g. on a pc without an embedded key and no previous W10/11 installation?

It's impossible to test.

1. There are no product keys, yet, that any product key checking software will identify as being a Windows 11 Product key.
2. Legitimately activated Windows 11 means there is a digital license. On any Windows 11 with a digital license you can change the product key to the same generic product keys for Windows 10 and it remains activated. Re-install the same edition of Windows 10 with the same generic product key and it will activate from the same digital license.

Microsoft has already stated that Windows 10 & 11 digital licenses are interchangeable.

Win 11 is a morphed Win 10X... I don't see Win 11 keys ever. Digital licences will be the way forward.

After posting here and waiting for the answer I also directly asked from Microsoft support. They confirmed that I can install windows 10 using the same license and can easily upgrade back to win 11 in the future whenever I want.
