Anybody has got Insuline Resistance? That sort of a stupid question though, most likely everyone does.

Easting too much sugar causes Insuline Resistance and pre-diabetes, eventually reversable Type 2 diabetes and irreversible Type 1.
I never paid too much attention to it, but my college gave me a Glucose Meter and it showed 13 (normal range is 4-6, 8 after food).
Ever since I have cut carbs, I have lost 10 kg (90 to 80, 198 pounds to 178), my sugar went down as well thanks to intermittent fasting.

Not surprisingly, alcohol lowers lowers blood sugar. Whiskey with a lemon water and I keep losing memory, no wonder with 4.5 :dizzy:

Last week I spent fasting, eating 10 free range raw egg yolks a day and 2 coffees with a non-alkalized 100% cacao and cinnamon.

I am trying to turn my life around and I have got crazy about supplements, I have a big heart, so Mg and stuff like that is essential to lower my blood pressure, typically 180/130, but I have just got it down to 142/95, so I guess that I am doing something right. 🤷‍♂️

I say this quite a bit on other forums. There's no such thing as "Pre-Diabetes". You either are or you aren't. My own endocrinologist even told me that. I'm not insulin resistance. I barely have to take any anymore. I've been on Ozempic since February and I've dropped almost 50lbs. I started at 287, and I'm down to 238. I would definitely try to get on Ozempic our Mounjaro if you can. Sure they have some side effects, but all medications do. I started out at .25mg, and i'm now up to 2mg weekly. I don't eat nearly as much as I used to.

I use this computer for photo/video editing and to track severe weather
It is a common myth that type 2 diabetes can turn to type 1. They are fundamentally different.

Type 1 is more severe (failure to produce insulin) and no amount of diets/supplements can help and injections of some form are needed for life.

Type 2 is about insulin resistance i.e. body cannot effectively absorb insulin, and issues arise if not enough insulin is produced and/or resistance is high.

To some degree dieting (cut down sugar intake, reduce volume of food, reduce weight, more exercise etc.) can help. However if figures are still high, one may need use of drugs like metformn or glycosides

In general weight reducing supplements (big fuss in UK as prices rocketing) are illusionary as they msy help in the short term but if one stops taking them without adjusting ones lifestyle, you end up piling weight on again and sugar levels rise again.

The only way to effectively manage type 2 is a lifestyle change.

I try to keep my sugar level as low as possible by careful intake (avoid sugary deserts, chocolate, cakes blah blah, keep alcohol intake low (I only drink one day a week now rather than 7).

I now use a treadmill daily etc.

Ignore all the bs on youtube about take this/that.

One supplement is to take a tot of cider vinegar daily but the evidence for the effectiveness of that is contradictory.

Problem with non prescribed supplements is there just is not enough long term evidence to prove they really help (and worse impact on organs like heart, kidneys, liver is rarely quantified).

The ONLY EFFECTIVE SOLUTION is change your lifestyle, and pay attention to your doctors not some "youtube" influencers (how often do you hear of influencers stupidly dying LOL).
