Win11 Home Edition (removed S-mode)
I saw from the very beginning Win11 that up-to-date drivers is critical so why doesn't Intel Driver update run under Win11 S Mode? Come on, get with Intel to make this happen.
I have another laptop using Win11 not S Mode that has notified me of updates this intel assistant is needed not my some Win11 users but all users.

I agree. Why would you want to be restricted with the limitations of S mode.

Upgrade to the full Windows 11 Home version to be able to install any Windows application. S version is restricted to applications from Microsoft Store only. The upgrade is free, don't think about it, proceed.

Is that available in Microsoft Store? S mode cannot run standard Windows applications (desktop versions), only Store versions (called Metro apps in Windows 8). Much like a locked Android phone or tablet can only install Google Play Store apps.

As expected. It will not install in Windows 11 Home S. You must upgrade to the full unrestricted Windows 11 Home version.

Getting out of S mode is easy.
  • open Settings > System > Activation.
  • In the Switch to Windows 11 Pro section, select Go to the Store. (If you also see an "Upgrade your edition of Windows" section, be careful not to click the "Go to the Store" link that appears there.)
  • On the Switch out of S mode (or similar) page that appears in the Microsoft Store, select the Get button. After you see a confirmation message on the page, you'll be able to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store.

What's the point of S Mode if you have to exit out of it to get up dates to Intel drivers? Sure, you can do manually threw device manager (I think?) but it's the point. What else is going to pop up? needing fixing Either make it work or drop it all together.

In theory you can download the ZIP (compressed) version of the Intel drivers, not the EXE (executable) version. Then extract all contents at a folder. Then go at Device Manager, expand Display Adapters, right-click on Intel HD graphics and select Update driver. Select the second option and then the second option again. Click on Have disk and browse to the folder where you extracted the driver. You may also need to open a subfolder such as Display. Select one of the available INF files to get a list of suitable devices. Select the first and proceed. Fingers crossed... This should force the official Intel drivers without having to run the Setup which is not allowed.
