Windows Update automatically install drivers for Intel UHD iGPU. How to manually install? I tried with DDU.

Device Manager - Update Driver say i have latest version but it's older.

Why are you fooling around with the UHD drivers?
Are you having a problem with them?


You can block all drivers included with Windows Updates.
They will appear but only as Optional updates...

Windows functions fairly well if you just leave the drivers alone (unless one of them is causing a problem).

The only things you really need to keep an eye on, are the Chipset drivers and the BIOS updates.
AMD, Intel and Microsoft are constantly making changes to those two items... for security reasons.
So you should try to keep them up to date.



For the rest of the drivers... leave them alone, unless one of them quits working altogether.

As Ghost said, you need to disable driver updates from Windows Update or it will override your drivers every time. Follow the tutorial and then install whatever drivers you want.

When you install the driver from the Intel website, try disabling the clean/fresh installation.

Download Windows Update Show/Hide Tool or Windows Automatic Update Manager (aka WAU Manager) both available from Major Geeks. Install latest official Intel drivers and before restart run either tool. Search for updates and check the box to hide (block) the Intel graphics update before it gets installed. It won't bother you again unless it's a new version.

Call me old fashioned but if it's a laptop or prebuilt OEM, I'll go only to the manufacturers website for the latest drivers as some are taylored to that specific system. Add on's are a different story. Anything else is just generic. I've never had an issue practicing this.

If the manufacturer has no custom drivers, they usually provide the official Intel (or whatever) drivers at their site. However, they usually are older. Why not install the newest drivers directly from Intel (or whatever) ?

The drivers will still show up in the Optional Updates list.
You can still install them if desired, but they will no longer "automatically" install.

This is a GOOD thing.
Sometimes, the drivers from Microsoft, conflict with the already installed drivers.
And driver conflicts are "never" a good thing. ^^

Well, that will work if the OEM had WDDM 3.1 drivers. Dell for example has only WDDM 2.7 drivers even for Windows 11.

Any WDDM version drivers should work in 11, even WDDM 1.0 (Vista). Of course the higher the better, but I would prefer lower version official drivers vs higher version generic Microsoft drivers from Windows Update.

Ofcourse it will work but this is what Intel says:
"The identifiers above show the maximum WDDM version the driver is certified for but the actual WDDM version used is limited based on the specific OS installed. For example, Windows* 10 is limited to WDDM 2.7 and Windows* 11 is limited to WDDM 3.0 and newer."

Yes, ideal for Windows 11 is WDDM 3.0 or higher version, but in case some older card has official driver less than version 3.0, I would prefer it than an unreliable Windows Update WDDM 3.0+ driver.

    Legacy MBR installation, no TPM, no Secure Boot, no WDDM 2.0 graphics drivers, no SSE4.2, cannot get more unsupported ;) This is only my test laptop. I had installed Windows 11 here before upgrading my main PC. For my main PC I use everyday see my 2nd system specs.

That's true but Dell for my system has 2.7 even for a updated security fixed driver. The 3.1 and 3.2 drivers work fine and I can't remember but WSLg wants WDDM 3.x.
