dont need one for a repair install (aka in-place upgrade install).

you do need to be able to download the installation media.

dont know if it will work, it might carry over the existing problem, but worth a try

just trying going back to an earlier build so will be a while before i can try anything else.

Still no real change. but not going to be much i can try now for 5 days due to work.

I take backup Images of my W11 OS and restore as required.
Just recently when i restore an Image (AOMEI) i have no Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller. It was there & working when i made the Image and before i did a restore.
The only way i can get it back is as OAT suggested by shutting down the system then keep pressing the Power Button for about ten seconds (i do 30 secs).
I then pull the power cord for 5 minutes, plug back in and boot the PC. The Realtek Gaming 2.5GbE Family Controller is then back & working.

Not sure how or why this issue started, and it is annoying, but at least there is a work around for me that works.

Then download Device Cleanup Tool from here:- Tools for Windows

Make sure you have all device drivers available.
Disconnect your Ethernet Cable and wireless connection.

Run Driver Store Explorer and let it scan and then choose Select Old Drivers, tick Force Deletion, Click delete Drivers.

Run Device cleanup tool and remove everything except the volume shadow copies

Reboot your machine, Enter UEFI, Make sure all ports are enabled in BIOS then F10 and OK. Let it get to your desktop then give it a minute to finish it's Tea. Now check device manager again, check to show hidden devices. If something errors then right click on it and select Update Driver, point to your driver folder and let it scan.

Let it sit for a while and monitor Device Manager. If all is now OK reconnect the Ethernet and get on and use your machine.
