Hi,

I have the above mentionned problem. Not at every startup but intermittently. Sometimes there is a spinning wheel (on the black screen) and then comes the full black screen, sometimes the black screen comes directly after the logon screen.

I am on a local account and have no password at startup. It thus "normally" simply passes over the logon screen.

Yes, and I have verified the connections and touched the cable all the long, there is no fold.

One other possibility is my screen (flat), which is something like 30 years old (SynchMaster P2270), but I have heard that these screens are "undestructibles".

Do you have any other ideas ?

Thanks in advance

Edit: forgot to say: I get around the problem by clicking "alt-ctrl-del" and logoff, the log in again, but that's not really a solution

Hi FreeBooter,

thank you for the link. I have fully read the video up to the end I am quite impressed by the effort you put into this video. I am not an expert, but I knew some of the commands you showed, others I didn't know at all. I'll keep your link saved on my computer, but as following all these steps is a bit complicated, please forgive me that, as I just downloaded the new .iso file for Windows 26200.8246, I will first try an inplace upgrade.
If the problem comes back, I will come back to you (and the forum).

Thanks again
