Well, due to circumstances beyond my control (hearing aid related) I finally had to buy an iphone but after using Samsung Galaxy S22+, I find the iPhone is very clunky in places.
My biggest hassle was selecting a web browser. I avoid chrome like the plague as it is so venal about blocking ads/popups. It is like whack-a-mole.
I found the Edge browser easy to use and blocks ads effectively on the Samsung. However, it is unreliable on iPhone frequently hanging.
I tried safari but its interface is too simplistic and few customisations.
So I tried duck duck but found its interfaces to be cumbersome.
In the end, I have plumped for Firefox - easy to set up shortcuts, good home button, easy to customise by and large without being cumbersome.
The other annoying issue with iPhones is the pathetic Apple keyboard - what pox ridden keyboard does not have a full stop on its main page!
So I have installed Google's gboard which is a big improvement but to my annoyance the iPhone version is not as functional as the android version (where every key has an alternative symbol with long presses). The iPhone version only had numbers 0 to 9 on qwerty row. You have to press the full stop to get alternative symbols or access other screens.
I actually deleted the pathetic Apple keyboard but it is seemingly not really deleted and some apps still default to that without option to use gboard.
Another big iPhone failing is the inability to close all open web pages/apps with just two key presses.
TBH, the only truly good feature of iPhone is its (3D) faceID which is far superior to the 2D android faceID which gives up half the time.
As for getting files from pc to iPhone and back, that is a whole other story. With android, plug it in with usb cable and it looks like a usb drive.
Although iPhone is seen from pc, copying files is a pita.
In the end, iPhones feel really dated and in need of a major overhaul but like all poxy phones, AI is being pushed big time instead of focussing on getting the basics as slick as possible.
