Is there a free trusted Driver Updater

IMHO, the best driver updater is in the mirror.....

Since you know your machine and your components better than any software and you can easily tell which drivers work best on your specific components, I've always felt that you are your own best driver updater.

Yes, it's a little more work and drive space (keeping the driver packages locally just in case you ever need them) but in the end you know you'll have the best drivers for your system.

Just maintain a list of driver update URLs for your system. Do the list once and just reuse it. Intel or AMD and then the motherboard manufacturer. Maybe also the video adapter.

My thought about drive space and such was so that you have a local copy at all times.

For example, my mobo doesn't have any wifi unless I install the drivers during setup. So I just got in the habit of keeping local copies of all the latest and/or best working drivers on my system so that I don't need a wifi connection to get everything up to date.

I don't mess around with drivers so it's a fully manual operation. Also I am not really sure where these driver apps are getting these drivers from. For example ccleaner shows a newer driver for my fingerprint reader but for the life of me I have not been able to find this driver anywhere online for like a year now
Personally, I use driver store explorer not only to keep things tidy but as an all in one driver list which I then use to check against new releases. Also helps that our local mokichu is the best new driver provider ever as well

ASUS, right? I wish there was someone for other motherboard vendors
