Is there a way to install windows 10 with unsupported hardware?

Yes, there is. But why are you asking about Windows 10 on the Windows 11 forum? And what hardware do you have that is not supported by Windows 10?

Sorry but this post makes little sense to me. MS has no "incompatible hardware" list when it comes to installing 10. Whether or not 10 will work is controlled by whether or not there are compatible drivers for whatever hardware it's installed on. MS does not write these drivers. Whomever makes the hardware does. There's no "workaround" if there are no compatible drivers. A rule of thumb is if Windows 7 worked, 10 most likely will as long as one installs 32bit or 64 bit depending on the architecture of the hardware.
If that doesn't answer your question, please provide more specific information so we can know exactly what you are referring to. But as was suggested, you should post in the tenforum.

I was being sarcastic. The question asked what hardware Windows 10 does not support. My response was 100% accurate for the question as it was asked

I agree with your answer for the most part. Some people with computers bought in 2007 or later with Windows Vista found they initially worked in Windows 10. Eventually there was an update that caused the feature Windows 10 updates to stop.

By the time Windows Vista came out in 2007 weren't all AMD and Intel CPUs 64-bit? You mentioned Windows 7 which came out in 2009. By that time I assume that not only were all CPUs 64-bit but they met all the other hardware requirements for Windows 10. Am I missing something?

Some people have the impression that unless the computer has drivers specific to Windows 10 then the computer will not work with Windows 10. That is not necessarily true. Sometime Windows 7 or 8 drivers will work fine with Windows 10.

The best way to find out if Windows 10 will work is try to upgrade a computer to Windows 10. If that fails then try to do a clean install of Windows 10. If that fails then the best option is to go back to the previous version of Windows that was on it. I assume that was Window 7 or Windows 8.1.

Another question not addressed is that even if Windows 10 installs OK then that does not guarantee that all the hardware is working correctly. What doesn't will be apparent in the Device Manager. Sometime searching on the Internet will locate apporprate drivers. What is not so apparent are devices that are using the default Windows drivers. That might not a problem but will for something like a graphics card. For it the Windows driver will not support hardware acceleration. The Windows and other software will seem rather slow with it.

Welcome to the forum. Yes, my pc has stickers for Vista and Windows 7. I had Windows 10 on it when I bought it, and I have added Windows 11 to it.

No. Pentium-4 2.8GHz released in 2002 was the last desktop 32-bit CPU but some Intel Atom were 32 bit for some time after that. I purchased a new HP Elitepad 1000 G2 in 2014 with Windows 8 and it has a x86 Atom CPU. It runs Windows 10 fine but it's stuck at one of the very earliest Windows 10 releases. It just won't run anything later. I installed Windows 10 on a lot of Pentiums and Celerons that were x86.

Actually, MS does publish lists of supported processors for Windows 10....

...and there's even one for Windows 7 !

There is no enforcement of any of these 'requirements' though. Win10 setup will let you install on anything. In fact, I suspect these lists were drawn up long after the event as an excuse for MS to stop providing support for older models.

I have a Toshiba L750 laptop which was supplied with an OEM Windows 7 Home Premium, and subsequently got the free upgrade to Windows 10 with Microsoft's Get Windows 10 app back in 2015. This PC's Intel Pentium B950 is not on either of those 'supported' lists, not even for Windows 7 (which Toshiba installed at the factory).

That is what I get when I assume something.

Intel is replacing its Pentium and Celeron brands with just Intel Processor. The new branding will replace both existing brands in 2023 notebooks and supposedly make things easier when consumers are looking to purchase budget laptops.

The first AMD 64-bit desktop processors were the Athlon 64 and Opteron which were released in 2003. The architecture was called x86-64.

I think the first Intel 64-bit desktop CPU that was compatible with x86-64 was the Pentium 4 model F which came out in 2004. Note Intel's implementation of x86-64 is called Intel 64.

BTW, I bought my old laptop in November 2004 with an Athlon 64 3400+ CPU. It was unsuitable for any release of Windows 10 because drivers were unavailable. I was able to install Windows 10 32-bit on it but it had 4 red Xs in the Device Manager. I couldn't find either an Ethernet or WiFi working driver for it so I gave up.

That shows it is not enough for the CPU to support Windows 10. You still have to have drivers for the motherboard and other peripherals that work in Windows 10.

Personally, I think we just need to wait for the OP to come back and do some 'planning. I'm not holding my breath for them to come back, though.

I have an idea that they meant Windows 11 and typed Windows 10 by mistake.
