Nothing ever worked when it comes to windows updates and drivers for me. I hidden in WUMT driver updates. But annoying icon of Windows Update with yellow dot is showing on taskbar! I don't want this to show because driver updates, I use this to let me know when it is time to check for updates!

Is there are functional way to stop searching for drivers through Windows Update? This is annoying...

Remember nothing ever worked, I can try 20 different commands from google myself...

Write only if you have different ideas, otherwise it is waste of time, as nothing works...

May I ask what driver it's trying to install and why you don't want it to? There may be a workaround specific to that driver.

Logitech - HIDClass - 1.10.1.0 - I don't want to install these, I dislike how it makes my mouse feels! Also it shows other drivers from time to time: I don't want that!
I will try this again later, but it never worked yet. I tried so many things and nothing ever worked for disabling driver updates through WinUP and such!

I wonder why. I have used it to hide driver updates before. That's how I stopped the Western Digital driver from reinstalling. I just ran wushowhide on my desktop and it found two Intel drivers that I can hide.

is it changing the default pointer speed? That's the only thing I can think that a driver can do to change the feel of the mouse. If you aren't able to stop the driver from trying to update you may be able to adjust the pointer speed to where it feels right.

I said: it also shows other drivers to update I don't want to! It is annoying! I dont want to miss Windows Updates, because there is now permanently icon on taskbar on it. That's they reason I don't want this to show. Most mouse drivers cause lag and I don't like how my mouse feel after update. Windows 11 is already laggy! So I Am not installing them!

I asked chatgpt, even chatgpt's solution didn't work :D

Everyone needs to use this ASAP it is goldmine and saves work, search engines are way of past... Even given how dumb it is, already so much potential and useful for so many things...

maybe this? I can't think of anything that would prevent this from halting driver updates

If an unwanted driver update is already installed, there is nothing to hide. In that case you have to replace the unwanted driver with the official driver you want or just uninstall it. Run Windows Update Show Hide Tool again before Windows Update has any chance to replace the official driver. Hide the unwanted driver update, that's it. I know that because for old graphics cards Windows Update constantly tried to update to the latest generic Microsoft driver and cripples many features. I just install the latest available official driver and immediately run the Tool to hide the respective update. Unless there is a future update for this device, Windows Update doesn't try to replace the official driver again. To do it as fast as possible, run the Tool to be ready for use, install the desired official driver and proceed with the Tool BEFORE restarting. Block the unwanted driver updates, then restart.
