Issue with new install of 365

I had a long drawn-out issue with outlook on previous post.

Never did solve this issue even with a multitude of ideas here. Been using Mailbird which works sort of. Bit pricy though.
So, I broke down 4 days ago and cleared out everything belonging to office from pc and laptop. Installed 365 on both and my missing primary account just returned on it's own. Amazing. This newish outlook is a bit different so I have some reading to do.

BUT; All of a sudden my contacts have disappeared on the pc. Fine on the laptop (same accounts). Tried re-booting and importing from csv file. They all show up then disappear again when I restart Outlook. I get all the weird ones.
At least I have the laptop for a direct comparison.
Any help.................................

Try using REVO uninstaller to remove your installation and delete everything it offers, reboot then reinstall.

New Outlook for Windows stores Contacts/People differently than Classic Outlook. Does this Q&A seem like what you are facing?

Are you using the same Outlook (Classic or New) on both machines?

These are both 4 day old installs on clean machines and I am using Outlook New on both. Was able to view my contacts using "people" on both initially.
With that in mind I ran outlook Classic and there they are. All my contacts. I guess I could just use classic but would like to fix New Outlook.

Thanks for that but a bit early in the process to do 2 re-installs. Me thinks that it has to be fixable.

Just to sure we are talking about the same thing - In New Outlook, with multiple email accounts, contacts are segregated by Account. If you add/import contacts to Alice@domain you will not see those contacts when you have selected Bob@domain in the People Navigation Pane. (To Show/Hide the Nav Pane use the hamburger menu in the upper left).

With that in mind, are you still not seeing any imported Contacts for any of your accounts?

In desktop my primary account just shows "me"; then the other two accounts say that no contacts have been added.
Is this some sort of sync issue??

Huh? Mailbird is freeware. Where did you get it from?

Want the extras that go/come with o/Outlook, try eMClient (freeware for up to to 2 accounts)

It could be sync. Is sync for email and calendar working on all accounts?

I'm having trouble getting your symptoms to fit into any specific problem area. Particularly the one where you import directly into a PC account and then the contacts disappear on a restart. That doesn't fit any pattern I know of.

I don't know much or anything about "sync" in this application; I am out for the afternoon Ubering people around to hospital and DR visits. Just my little way of helping out. I do get gas paid for. Will be back at this later. Thanks for help and patience !!

You said you have New Outlook on two machines. On the laptop you can see contacts. On the PC you can not.

My question is if you do something to the emails on the laptop (e.g. move one out of the Inbox) do you see the change on the PC? Same for Calendar. e.g. If you add a new event on the laptop do you see that event on the PC?

To force a manual Sync of all folders in New Outlook, press F9.

just moved an email from inbox on laptop and it got moved the same on pc. Calendar I have not used yet.
Just had a call from Microsoft in WA; hello but no one there!

I believe that you have mentioned in the past that you have multiple email accounts. Is that correct and are any of them IMAP or POP? i.e. Not Microsoft Cloud accounts? If so, than as I understand it, these accounts will only sync emails, not Calendar or Contacts. That's why I asked you to do a Calendar sync test.

Ok; your correct; all three accounts are gmail accounts and have been for years.
Good news is that contacts arose from the dead on the desktop; go figure. Some contacts are missing (have them on Mailbird so I can fix) and when I try to add contacts to an email by typing the corresponding letter a whole bunch of old addresses show up from somewhere in space, Having a weird time but getting there. I had previous accounts like widows live mail etc so I think some old stuff in floating around at Microsoft. Be nice to do a purge these.
Thanks all for the help. I will keep plugging away.

Those are from your Autocomplete cache. A history of email addresses you have used in the past. They are not real contacts and are local to a specific install.
