It still "may" not work. But it definitely won't work if you left that box checked when running the Media Creation Tool.


Again as @antspants said... open Terminal (Admin), and run this command...

Get-ItemProperty "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion" |<br>Select-Object ProductName, EditionID, ReleaseId, CurrentBuild, UBR


Then post a screenshot of the result.

Thanks for the tips, but the upgrade itself is not the problem. I only want to figure out what lets the damn setup think i am using old unsupported HW??? Impossible...

Got it. Yes and its true because Windows 11 is an update to Windows 10, not a completely new version. The build and UBR show its not Windows 10 which never went that high and winver correctly reports the new Windows number.

Btw, if i want to do the in-place upgrade, at certain point this window appears and stays like forever (waited 30+ minutes)...

The only way for me to get to the latest build is to modify the group policy to force 25H2 to appear in Windows Update.

There probably is... but as mentioned above... "you're chasing a ghost".
Do a Clean Install, and make a backup before you start tweaking things.


Personally, I keep a folder on my storage drive, with every tweak I do, to whatever OS I'm using.
It makes the ghosts... easier to find. :-)
