  • New! We enhance File Explorer. It now includes tabs to help you organize your File Explorer sessions like you do in Microsoft Edge. On the new File Explorer homepage, you can pin important files for quick and easy access. Using the power of Microsoft OneDrive, you can view your colleagues’ actions on your shared files. We also provide personalized suggestions based on your Microsoft 365 account.
  • New! We add a feature called Suggested Actions for items that you copy. This is available for customers in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. For example, when you copy phone numbers or future dates, we provide suggestions, such as make a call with Teams or Skype or add an event in the Calendar app.

Windows 11 servicing stack update - 22621.378​

This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.

Install this update

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

Personally, I think it's more likely to be a case of 'left hand not talking to right hand'. I think that the release notes are in error saying it would be added by this CU.

As far as I'm aware the only build that currently does have Task Manager on the right-click is the Dev build, not even the Beta build has it yet. Let's hope MS gets their wires uncrossed and it makes it into the November Patch Tuesday CU.:crossed

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro (and all my Hyper-V VMs).

While you're waiting, you could add Task Manger to the Taskbar. Start>All apps>Windows Tools, from the list right click on Task Manager and Pin to taskbar. It's probably the fastest and most convenient way to open it.

? Don't know if you meant that it is not available through the update itself, but I have it on the insider preview with the registry edit to enable it.

Yes, I know that. But there is baggage that comes along with being an insider. And I will only be able to get insider release preview builds and I won’t be able to avoid them. Since they are the same I should be permitted to leave insider, but MS won’t let me.

Just installing this on my other Win 11 machine. It stayed on "installing 69%" for 45mins, but it must have heard me mention about going to get a very large hammer, because nec minute 70%, and within 5mins of that I heard a win 11 notification chime, & sure enough there's prompt to restart.

Right here goes....

OK that was painless - less then 2mins and I'm able to login. My other win 11 completed it in 15mins start to finish, which gave me a false sense of security lol.

The explorer layout is slightly different between both my win 11 machines. On the 1st machine I updated, OneDrive is located directly under Home on the Navigation Pane, then there is a separator. Under the separator is This PC and all the folders I have pinned to quick access. Then my drives are listed under them, at Network is at the bottom. On the second machine, Home is on it's own, then a separator, then This PC and all my usual folders, and OneDrive is located under those, followed by the system drives and then Network. Not sure why the inconsistency, as both machines had identical settings and layouts prior to this update, along with the same version of Win 11 (i.e. Pro) and same MS account logged in.

EDIT after running a SFC (in which it found & repaired corruptions) , rebooting, I see the Explorer layouts match now. OneDrive is under Home on both machines now.

KB5019509 Build 22621.675 Out-of-band installed fast but left my (mechanical) HDD spinning for several minutes after installing (Sysmain + Explorer). Ran DISM online and SFC /scannow: No issues. Will have to get used to the new File Explorer with these pins in the navigation pane.
Update: Sorage Sense found 1.8 Gb redundant Windows Update files that I deleted (attached)
