Win Update KB5027397 Enablement Package for Windows 11 version 23H2 Feature Update

Summary​

Windows 11, versions 22H2 and 23H2 share a common core operating system with an identical set of system files. Therefore, the new features in Windows 11, version 23H2 are included in the latest monthly quality update for Windows 11, version 22H2 but are in an inactive and dormant state. These new features will remain dormant until they are turned on through the “enablement package,” a small, quick-to-install “master switch” that activates the Windows 11, version 23H2 features.

The enablement package is a great option for installing a scoped feature update like Windows 11, version 23H2 as it enables an update from version 22H2 to version 23H2 with a single restart, reducing update downtime. This enables devices to take advantage of new features now. For version 22H2 devices that receive updates directly from Windows Update, devices automatically get the enablement package by installing the feature update to Windows 11, version 23H2.

How to get this update​

The x64 plain or AMD64 is for... AMD and Intel processors.
(Back in the day... AMD invented the x64 CPU. That's why it's called AMD64, even for Intel CPUs)




The ARMx64 or ARM64 is only for "ARM" processors.

Yeah, I knew that. Ironically, I learned that When Crytek released their AMD64 patch for Crysis around 2009. But that's another story.

thank you @Ghot for sharing the KB files for enabling the windows 11 23h2 update, my system wouldn't show this KB in the system - windows updates - checker! i believe Microsoft are blocking the update, for anyone running a i7-6700k, the 22h2 update still hadn't hit my device yesterday and using "Create Windows 11 Installation Media" only upgraded me to 22h2 from 21h2, this whole thing is insane and i couldn't find kb5027397 in the update catalog "here"

That's a new one: to have a feature update preview installed - but displayed as the old 22H2 build 22621.2506 till applying a 180 KB patch which changes its naming to 23H2 build 22631.2506 Halloween Special: Windows Trick or Treat Edition :win: 👻

After running this, and finding everything working, today I run SFC and get the now not unusual message, 'Corrupt files found and repaired'. Checking the log it turns out that yet again it is this:

I've had that so many times! I've not had it for a while though and it does seem to fix itself.

I tried with it on and off, and was not offered it. I downloaded the msu file linked in the first post and applied it without issue. I generally prefer to get things via WU, but I just wanted to move on.

I pondered this too while I slept so i decided to check the two laptops at work this morning (same specs as my system) running Win 11 Home Single Language. Both were offered the 23H2 update oddly enough. Updated them without issues
