Known issues in this update

Applies toSymptomWorkaround
IT adminsUsing the FixedDrivesEncryptionType or SystemDrivesEncryptionType policy settings in the BitLocker configuration service provider (CSP) node in mobile device management (MDM) apps might incorrectly show a 65000 error in the "Require Device Encryption" setting for some devices in your environment. Affected environments are those with the “Enforce drive encryption type on operating system drives” or "Enforce drive encryption on fixed drives" policies set to enabled and selecting either "full encryption" or "used space only". Microsoft Intune is affected by this issue but third-party MDMs might also pe affected.

Important This issue is a reporting issue only and does not affect drive encryption or the reporting of other issues on the device, including other BitLocker issues.
To mitigate this issue in Microsoft Intune, you can set the “Enforce drive encryption type on operating system drives” or "Enforce drive encryption on fixed drives" policies to not configured.

We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
All usersWindows devices using more than one (1) monitor might experience issues with desktop icons moving unexpectedly between monitors or other icon alignment issues when attempting to use Copilot in Windows (in preview). To prevent users from encountering this issue, Copilot in Windows (in preview) might not be available on devices that have been used or are currently being used in a multimonitor configuration.

We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
All usersThe color font format for COLRv1 does not render properly. This format enables Windows to display emoji with a 3D-like appearance. We are working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
All usersWhen using physical media or disc images (ISO) to install Windows 11, version 23H2 (also referred to as the Windows 11 2023 Update) on a device, Microsoft Narrator might not start.

Narrator is commonly initialized using keyboard commands, such as Ctrl + Windows key + Enter. Although Narrator is present in Windows when the installation process begins, it might open in an unresponsive state when initialized using any method.

Please note this issue does not occur when Windows 11, version 23H2 is installed using Windows Update on a device which is already running Windows 10 or Windows 11. This issue only occurs when physical media or ISOs are used for this installation and Narrator is only affected while the installation process is taking place. It should continue to work as expected once the installation is completed.
We are working on a resolution and updated media which can be used to install Windows 11, version 23H2 without this issue. We will provide an update in an upcoming release.
All usersMicrosoft has received reports of an issue in which some Wi-Fi adapters might not connect to some networks after installing this update. We have confirmed this issue was caused by this update and KB5033375. As reported, you are more likely to be affected by this issue if you are attempting to connect to an enterprise, education, or public Wi-Fi network using 802.1x authentication. This issue is not likely to occur on home networks. This issue is addressed using Known Issue Rollback (KIR). Please note that it might take up to 24 hours for the KIR to propagate automatically to consumer devices and non-managed business devices. Restarting your Windows device might help the KIR apply to your device faster.

For enterprise-managed devices that have installed an affected update and encountered this issue, it can be addressed by installing and configuring a special Group Policy. The special Group Policy can be found in Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > <Group Policy name listed below>
For information on deploying and configuring these special Group Policy, please see How to use Group Policy to deploy a Known Issue Rollback.

Group Policy downloads with Group Policy name:
Important You will need to install and configure the Group Policy for your version of Windows to resolve this issue. You will also need to restart your device(s) to apply the group policy setting.

Worked fine before they updated these drivers.

That may be when the EOS utility stopped saving the pics to the folder I told it to.
I can't be sure though, cause I've been using my phone for pics for about 4-5 months.

The worst part is that now all Windows recent builds including insider builds now have the same bug with this Canon PowerShot A1200, they all behave the same way showing this MTP USB Device driver. 😜🤬 R.P., Beta, Dev and Canary.
Still works fine with older Windows 11 and Windows 10. 😂

Edit:
Arrived earlier than expected on Dec 29, 2023. Windows 11 Pro preinstalled, I updated to the latest version 23H2 22631.2861, no problems so far.
I used Keyboard, mouse and screen with HDMI from an old windows 10 PC that was missing the requirements for windows 11.
Next week I'll take the old PC to GoodWill where they recycle old electronics. 😉
I will make this one dual boot with Dev Build 23606 after partitioning the 1TB SSD to install both systems and carving one partition out for my stable data. 😉

This update with the latest security has really slowed down my program loading time. I don't run with Core Isolation enabled (don't use VM's). It seems that even with a fast processor and memory MS is intent on slowing your system performance down. I can understand the need for better security for enterprise environment but, for home personal computers it' over kill, just like the requirement of TPM (another outdated piece of junk). Even tried a clean install of 2861 with the same slow response. Gone back to version 2715 and everything is back the way it should be.

Like back in the day's of the 386, 486 and 486 DX under Dos 5, then MS comes along with windows and starts to slow down PC's so Intel /Amd up the Gig's to compensate and so I goes on. With so much rubbish now part and parcel of Win 11 it won't be long before we will need a CPU running at 10Ghz.with out over clock just to maintain a decent performance.

If you update with ISO, it will not show in update history, that only shows what is installed by Windows Update.
As for Copilot, MS is still requiring MS account, even if they announced that it will be available with Local accounts for limited number of interactions, it still did not happen except in Canary Builds.
I can enable Copilot with Local Account by changing the registry IsUserEligible to 1, and then disabling and re-enabling in taskbar settings,
but that bit gets reset to zero after a reboot and Copilot disappears again. 🤣🤣🤷‍♂️

Merry Christmas!
But 22631.2861 itself is an update, so when Update history was in Control Panel (called Installed updates) it was there.

Try Powershell (as Admin)...
get-hotfix

But as mentioned above... if you updated/upgraded with an ISO image... it's not gonna show.

Not the case anymore. The updates done with ISO never show up in Update History. 😂🤷‍♂️

On this one it shows 3 times the same update KB5033375. 😂😎

So you didn't install 22631.2861 ISO, but before.
This specific machine was done with Windows Update.
I did others with ISO and did not show KB5033375 on Update History till I used Windows Update which downloaded a new version of the same KB#.

Here is a weird one, not just specific to this build, same problem with any build with latest updates.
MS updated the MTP USB Device drivers and now, when I connect my Canon camera to the USB for uploading the pictures, it doesn't work correctly anymore. 😵‍💫🤬
I have to use a workaround to bypass the bug. 😵‍💫🤬🤐
Anybody else with a similar issue?
See details on the link below.

A1300 here. Also have A1000 & Nikon Coolpix A1000. It happened same as you. Fixed it same as you, hasn't come back with current build.
Current build is 23H2 (OS Build 22631.2861)

Still the same behavior here with Build 22631.2861. I even tried a clean install of 22631.2861, no difference. 😝

1703782473341.png
Eventually switches to the correct driver after I "Scan for hardware changes", sometimes more than once. 🤷‍♂️
1703782536631.png
After that I can access the camera and get the picture. Same issue with any insider Build too. 🤐🤬

Solution for few things in 22631.2861 or another versions :
Install Intel Serial IO Driver 30.100.2051.*
for example :
1) Fix problem DVD-RW can only burn twice.
2) When I turn off PC, activity time show 0:00:00.
