  • This update addresses an issue that affects certain types of 7-Zip files. They appear as empty in File Explorer.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Wi-Fi Protected Access 3 (WPA3) in the Group Policy editor. HTML preview rendering fails.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI). A caching issue occurs. The issue causes CurrentTimeZone to change to the wrong value.
  • This update makes Windows more reliable during power transitions. This reduces the risk of a stop error.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects the OpenType font driver. On a certain architecture, the issue might affect how text renders for third-party applications.
  • The update addresses a known issue that affects the color font format for COLRv1. It now renders properly. Windows uses this format to display emoji with a 3D-like appearance.
  • This update addresses an issue that stops WMI from working. This occurs in certain scenarios with mobile device management (MDM) providers, such as Microsoft Intune.

  • This update addresses an issue that affects Access Point Name (APN) profiles. It stops you from automatically configuring APN profiles for cellular enabled devices. This occurs when you run the “netsh mbn show readyinfo *” command.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Trusted Platform Modules. On certain devices, they did not initialize correctly. Because of this, TPM-based scenarios stopped working.
  • This update includes quarterly changes to the Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist file, DriverSiPolicy.p7b. It adds to the list of drivers that are at risk for Bring Your Own Vulnerable Driver (BYOVD) attacks.
  • This update affects Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Secure Boot systems. It adds a renewed signing certificate to the Secure Boot DB variable. You can now opt for this change.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects RemoteApp windows. In certain cases, they persist on client devices after you close them.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects a remote desktop client. It might connect to a wrong instance of a user's session. This occurs if a user has multiple sessions on the host.
  • This update addresses an issue that occurs when you change the keyboard language. The change fails to apply to RemoteApps in some scenarios.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Windows Local Administrator Password Solution (LAPS) Post Authentication Actions (PAA). The actions occur at restart instead of at the end of the grace period.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Active Directory. Bind requests to IPv6 addresses fail. This occurs when the requestor is not joined to a domain.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects the LocalUsersAndGroups CSP. It stops processing group memberships if it cannot find a group.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Group Policy Folder Redirection in a multi-forest deployment. The issue stops you from choosing a group account from the target domain. Because of this, you cannot apply advanced folder redirection settings to that domain. This issue occurs when the target domain has a one-way trust with the domain of the admin user. This issue affects all Enhanced Security Admin Environment (ESAE), Hardened Forests (HF) or Privileged Access Management (PAM) deployments.
  • This update changes a setting in Active Directory Users & Computers. By default, the snap-in now uses a strong certificate mapping of X509IssuerSerialNumber. It does not use the weak mapping of x509IssuerSubject.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects the display of a smart card icon. The icon does not appear when you sign in. This occurs when there are multiple certificates on the smart card.
  • This update addresses an issue that causes your device to shut down after 60 seconds. This occurs when you use a smart card to authenticate on a remote system.
If you installed earlier updates, only the new updates contained in this package will be downloaded and installed on your device.

Windows 11 servicing stack update - 22621.3073 and 22631.3073​

This update makes quality improvements to the servicing stack, which is the component that installs Windows updates. Servicing stack updates (SSU) ensure that you have a robust and reliable servicing stack so that your devices can receive and install Microsoft updates.

If you want to remove the LCU

To remove the LCU after installing the combined SSU and LCU package, use the DISM/Remove-Package command line option with the LCU package name as the argument. You can find the package name by using this command: DISM /online /get-packages.

Running Windows Update Standalone Installer (wusa.exe) with the /uninstall switch on the combined package will not work because the combined package contains the SSU. You cannot remove the SSU from the system after installation.

I think it's mostly because they want to move all parts of Windows to more modern UI designs, better dark mode support, better high-dpi support, and so on and I assume it's easier for them to do that with App-SDK and WinUI 3. So, inevitably, certain features get dropped and/or broken along the way and more computing power is needed to make it run as well as the old code. Since the old versions are still in the OS, I wish they had provided a menu to let the user choose which Explorer version they want to use, at least until the bugs are worked out and there's feature parity, but they've never done that before, so no reason to expect that kind of thoughtfulness now.

Is anyone getting these stupid errors?

It is written on the internet that it was seen in some people after an update in December, but I could not find a solution.
I tried clean installation, reset etc. It gives the same error.

DeviceSetupManager Errors (Event IDs 131, 200, 201 & 202)

Warning 200 says: "A connection to the Windows Update service could not be established."
Warning 201 says: "A connection to the Windows Metadata and Internet Services (WMIS) could not be established."
Warning 202 says: "The Network List Manager reports no connectivity to the internet."
Error 131 says: "Metadata staging failed, result=0x80072EFE for container '{9D4B63A4-C1E9-5EDF-9B1D-FCDB8ED9F48C}'"

Should I care? Does it affect performance? I wanted to ask because I didn't know :/ Thank you

There is no problem in the security and maintenance tab

Unfortunately, I don't DO cloud. So I can't comment on that.

But if Event Viewer is complaining about internet connectivity... I would start there.

There's no İnternet or update etc problem.
I've tried clean installs in ISO and MCT with the same errors.
.2861 .3007. and this version is .3085. Same error in all of them

SFC and DISM do not give errors

Search the registry for... {9D4B63A4-C1E9-5EDF-9B1D-FCDB8ED9F48C}
That might give a clue.

I don't have that CLSID number in my registry.
I can't find that CLSID number on Google, either.


...I dunno then. :(

I'm getting Device Set Up Manger errors as well. It has been going on for a couple of months. I did manage to eliminate some by removing/uninstalling a printer. I did go through the registry trying to figure it out, but with my limited experience I was only able to identify the printer. Through Device Manger I made sure all derivers were UpToDate. So far it hasn't affected anything, performance etc., but it is annoying knowing the errors are there.

Just out of curiosity I looked in the event manager, and sure enough I was getting these same errors on Windows 10 Pro and 11 Pro.

It seems "The problem has to do with Metadata Staging servers that Microsoft operates and which are down since November and which a recent Windows Update now has every updated Windows 10 and Windows 11 machine pointing to. They contact those servers to get device drivers and high-res device icons."

The work around to stop the errors (but not fix the problem as only MS can fix it) is to go to Settings/System/About/Advanced system settings/Hardware/ and change Device Installation Settings to "No (your device might not work as expected)" and save changes.

This will stop your machine from looking to MS for new device drivers every time you boot up.

I also read those articles. Unfortunately, they don't work. I think the problem is caused by Microsoft. It doesn't matter if device installation is turned on or off. I think this problem will be solved with the update. As long as it does not affect performance and does not trigger another problem

Well, I have that set to NO, and I don't get those Event Viewer errors.

I don't use a printer. Only the standard standing Microsoft xps printer stands. Should I remove it? Will there be another problem if I remove it?

It's not the xps printer. I removed it and they were still there. It was a HP fax driver causing some of my errors. While those went away, I'm still receiving others. If I change Devise Installation settings to no, the errors go away. Since I have it answered Yes I'm still getting "DeviceSetupManager" and "Windows Metadata" errors.

When I changed it to no, I was still getting the errors. However, I think changing it to no will be a temporary solution as it will prevent the installation of updated drivers if there are any.

I've heard it has been affecting people with Xbox controllers for PC. I have a wired one I use, so it's not just wireless ones.

I don't by default install preview updates, but because I was backing up my computer at the time, decided too.

I wasn't sure at the time what was causing the error, so I clean installed the OS, but this time without the preview update. It's been fine since.

I get those network errors soon after start up. I put it down to low energy settings which effectively turn off the network connection when the computer is not in use. It takes a while to restart the network connection, and windows seems to immediately look for updates and on-line connections as soon as the device is turned on. Usually the network connections are set soon after, and the windows updates/start ups run then.

I prefer not to turn off the low energy settings, so I put up with the messages in event viewer.
