Often it's a mismatch between languages, using an en-us ISO on an en-gb install, or vice-versa.

Right, I read about that one, but I'm always using En-US.

It's also not the fact that he was using the same version as he was on, since I've now tried the 26120.1330 ISO too.

I now suspect it's the edition.

I'm not sure if this is a new partition of some sort or whether it has just been altered and is near its space limit. There was certainly no red anywhere before but I can't say for sure if it is a new 'partition' of some sort. Anyone know the answer to that?

Your recovery partition is running out of space.
I expanded my recovery partitions some time ago to avoid that problem. See the sizes below for Beta, Dev, and R.P. on this multiboot system.

@fg2001gf11F Wow, so per my system and the system of the user you replied to, Disk Management is incapable of showing USAGE of Recovery. His is 0. Mine is 0. But the "modern" UI in Settings for same shows 540MB of 616MB used. Which may or may not be a problem, it's hard to know. I remember increasing this many, many years ago.

but its all good learning and reading up on this.

Toying with the idea of moving it using the free AOMEI Partition Wizard. More research needed...

Seems partition #4 is my active recovery one (used cmd and reagentc /info) but I'm not sure what if anything is on #6 as it shows just 15.6MB used. One for tomorrow and as long as I have disk images I feel fairly safe.

I use Minitool Partition Wizard to expand the Recovery partition when I need to.
After I shrink the C: volume partition I expand the recovery using the free space created at the end on the C: volume and then reboot.
I assume AOMEI can do the same. Good luck.

I use Macrium to see all the partitions and the actual space used. Disk management is quite useless for that.

This is still a bug with 26120.1340 like it was with 26120.1330.
7.86 GB leftover in Windows Update Cleanup after trying to clear the temp files.
Weird that 7.86 GB is the size of the whole ISO 26120.1340 created from uupdump.

I'm going to shoot for over 250MB free after seeing this, so maybe just rounding up to a 1GB total size

It's intentional, there is nothing to fix.
Will save from having to download it all over again when Dev is again fully Dev, not a hybrid of RP/Dev.

Which seems to be a reference to shadow copies? Isn't that just free space free space then, not recovery partition free space?

It is the free space required on every partition, depending on the size of the partition. That is true also for the Recovery partition.
Each NTFS partition needs its own free space.

Used those options, Cleanup / ResetBase set to 1 and it was almost 3GB less.

Question though... Do you know of any downside on doing it?
