  • This update addresses security issues for your Windows operating system.

Improvements​

This security update includes improvements that were a part of update KB5055627 (released April 25, 2025). The following summary outlines key issues addressed by the KB update after you install it. Also, included are available new features. The bold text within the brackets indicates the item or area of the change.

I have seen that behavior before. Run that command again but start before that a powershell as admin and enter the following command; Get-Content C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log -tail 10 -wait You are watching the CBS.log. In there you will find more clues if everything is OK.

I just did the same and yes it breaks off at 70%. But looking at the Logging (Powershell window) I see: Session: 31182199_1949332757 finalized. Reboot required: no [HRESULT = 0x00000000 - S_OK] That means no error (S_OK) /StartComponentCleanup is a different beast with other behavior. Keep in mind that if /AnalyzeComponentStore and /ScanHealth and /RestoreHealth gives no errors everything is still fine.

I suspect that the 70% is caused by the proces. Before the 70% it's checking everything, find that there is nothing to do here and breaks off. That seems to make sense. If there were 1 package to cleanup then it will spent the remaining 30% to clean that up. Use this command only if /AnalyzeComponentStore gives the advice to cleanup. (I my case there were 0 packages to cleanup to begin with...)

After a while (timeout) the Trusted Installer will end. After that there are no error te be seen. All is well....

It looks like it applies to Windows Server 2025. So your machine doesn't believe you need it. Which is likely correct. There's a Servicing Stack update, but that will probably be included with the next feature update that needs it.

Kind of weird that MS hid that update feature away, but maybe they figure that if you don't know to go looking for it, you don't know enough to be doing things like installing drivers and other optional components.

I've been unable to install KB5058411 on my Win11 Pro system, so I downloaded this one and tried it - even though I'm not running a Server version. The downloaded msu file took a loooonnnggg time extracting files, but it finally finished after about 20 minutes. It then said it was installing, and the progress stopped at about 20%. I checked Process Monitor a few time to check progress and it was using 0 CPU time and 0 disk time, so I clicked on the Cancel button. That did not cancel it. So I ended it with Process Monitor.

It did create c:\$WinREAgent at 1.35 GB, so I deleted that. Looks like it only works on legit Server systems - whatever they are.

Why in the heck did you downloaded the server version of KB5058411 is beyond me. Did you thought that would make your Win 11 Pro a server version? And you find it strange that it didn't work? Install the server version then. Otherwise stick to the Win 11 version of KB5058411! This forum is intended for people who ran into problems with their normal Window 11 versions. Not for help with stupid experiments.
