kindle 1.17 and Windows 2h22

Does anyone know how to stop Kindle for PC from stop updating itself?
I installed Amazon for PC version 1.17 on new install of 2h22. Every time I open kindle for pc, kindle updates.
I want to stay on version 1.17.
Does anyone know how I can install 1.17 and not have it update?

Install Version 1.17
Disconnect from Internet (stops program from updating at first start up)
Open the program
Go to Tools > Options > General
Untick "Automatically install updates"
Done

I have tried that except I was connected to the internet. By default, the automatically install updates is unticked.

I will try your suggestion in AM.

failure again. The check mark is not checked and I still get a new version every time I open the Kindle app.

Add firewall rule,

Setting a firewall is an option but I am going to pass as I have over 1300 items in library with items added weekly. I can't create a firewall rule and download items from the Amazon store.
