Windows 11 version 24H2 End of Servicing on October 13, 2026

Current status as of March 27, 2026

Windows 11, version 24H2 Home and Pro editions will reach end of updates on October 13, 2026. Devices running these editions will no longer receive fixes for known issues, time zone updates, technical support, or monthly security and preview updates containing protections from the latest security threats.

Windows 11, version 25H2 is the latest version of Windows available.

Devices running Home and Pro editions of Windows 11, version 24H2 that are not managed by IT departments will receive the Windows 11, version 25H2 update automatically. You can choose the time to restart your device or postpone the update..

If you have an eligible Windows 10 or Windows 11 device, you can check whether the update is available by selecting Settings > Windows Update and selecting Check for updates. If your device is ready for the update, you’ll see the option to Download and install Windows 11, version 25H2.

A resolution is rolling out to affected devices. IT admins can use a Group Policy to apply the rollback immediately.

Just updated to 26100.3775. One note; after the update all 3624 package are still there. That will be solved with an cleanup of the SxS store. It takes a bit longer to clean then seen with previous updates.

Hello, we have some problems with 24H2. When we connect to remote server via remote desktop using yubikey and certificater after 60s sesion is locked (Windows + L). On systems 23H2 we are not observing this issue. All systems are hybrib joined. When i use mstsc files from 23H2 on 24H2 system evertyhing is ok. can You advise where is the problem ? When we use password evertyhing is ok

The only issue I have with 24H2 is the fact I still have to use startallback + Win 7 start & flyouts for the most appealing desktop experience.
Looking for a more Windows Longhorn experience in Windows 12.

I would be full time Linux if any of the players could make it so I would stay on Linux.

That's not a 24H2 issue, but rather an end-user issue wanting to use a third-party app to tweak Windows beyond what Microsoft intended ;-)

Guess I'm old and out of touch but can't imagine not monitoring kids activity in today's world, especially the younger ones. But like they say, they do grow up quick especially with what's online. Sure glad I'm way past having to worry about it.

And you worry about PC's. Newsflash. Kids nowadays of 10 (or even younger) using mobile phones. Free access to everything! And that's normal?? Spending more time on their phones than at learning at school. Parents are surprised they are getting low grades.

Recently, on a Level 1 Techs video, there was a commentary on a teacher who resigned because the students weren't really learning anything. They just submit regurgitated Chat GPT for their homework assignments. According to this teacher they can't read properly, they can barely write, and have little to no genuine interest in learning.

I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.

Must be nice having Chat GPT do your homework for you , but I can totally see it happening.
Much like the younger ones that have worked for me in the past , most had a hard time just writing their names , looked like a three year olds writing, no cursive , no math skills , pretty much no skills whatsoever, if they weren't able to use a pc or a cell phone to complete the tasks before them they just could not do it, but yet still wanted that fat paycheck.

Thank God I am only four years from retirement because I can only see it getting worse.
