Solved Lack of Bluetooth

There is no indication, anywhere, that there is any bluetooth software or switches in win 11 on my pc. I have read numerous 'ideas' in help but just found one that apparently answers it all. Its not there. Microsoft in win 10 and win 11 are still having problems getting bluetooth to work and it goes on. According to the article, there seems to be no action from MS to fix this problem. I have tried every route on the pc, according to help items, nothing. There is not even a bluetooth to switch on, or off. Does anyone know if Microsoft is ever going to fix this item?

I ask this because I am about to get some Bluetooth speakers with a dongle to enable it to work. MY old speakers regularly give feedback buzz. Apparently the dongle will provide me with speaker usage without any socket use. My 11 is latest and my pc is top notch.

Do you have the Bluetooth "Services" in.... services.msc ..enabled?
I believe they should be set to... Manual (triggered)

There's also... Settings > Bluetooth & Devices stuff.

There would not be if you do not have a Bluetooth device.
Isn't it unusual these days for the WiFi adapter not to be a combined WiFi-Bluetooth adapter?
- Check your WiFi card specs.
- Does your Device manager display any yellow warning triangles?
- Does your Device manager have an Other devices section [which means that no driver has been found]?

When you fit the dongle to the computer & let Windows install its driver, you should be able to use Bluetooth.
- A Bluetooth section should appear in Device manager and an entry with the name of the Bluetooth adapter should appear within that.
- A Bluetooth adapter entry should also appear within Device manager, Network adapters section.
- A Bluetooth On/Off switch & an "Add Bluetooth or other device" control should appear in Settings, Devices

Is the Bluetooth onboard or a 3rd party device in a PCI-E slot? Is the dongle for the speakers or is the dongle the Bluetooth device?

I am picking up some logitech R207 BT speakers with a BT dongle tomorrow I hope. I had tried setting up a BT device, windows cant find it.

Try 3: I checked all devices etc the only yellowed triangle two security always have been including AMD PSP and TPM but when I check in software "This deice is working properly"

First off, Bluetooth has always been there and working for both Windows 10 and 11. It's there now on both my 10 and 11 machines. With that, "if" you have a Bluetooth card/module installed on the PC it should show up in Device Manager. If not you either don't have one, or it is faulty or has a driver issue. That would be the PCs/card fault... not Windows. So my first question is what does Device Manager say?

And this is from Windows Settings. Start > Settings > Bluetooth & devices...

Also, (if you have Bluetooth & devices under "Settings") you must leave "Bluetooth" on in order for devices to be seen and work.

elbmek, I can’t find speakers of this model anywhere. There’s a Logitech R270 wireless Keyboard?

Can you link to the speakers or check the model.
Can you also link or post what your motherboard is.
Can you mention (if a 3rd party) what your Bluetooth device model is.

If the dongle that comes with the speakers is a receiver. Wait until you get the speakers, plug in the dongle and go from there. Otherwise, this is a little pre-mature in my opinion.

Yes, there are bugs. Bluetooth disappears from my windows from both settings and device manager on occasion. The solution for me is to reinstall the drivers or run the troubleshooter.

I ended up placing a troubleshooter on my desktop. But if you don't have onboard Bluetooth, or a 3rd party Bluetooth device, you aren’t going to find Bluetooth.

Add a "run troubleshooter" to my desktop for Bluetooth?

Greetings, fellow Martians. I tried removing my Asus Maximus VI before disconnecting the wireless antenna and the result is I stripped the wires. So I had to buy a new Bluetooth/Wireless device, a TP-Link Archer TX3000E AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.0 PCI Express. Pre yanking out my motherboard...

At the end of the day, if you can tell us that you actually have onboard bluetooth, or a 3rd party bluetooth device.. I am not a fan by any means, of video fixes but this video pretty much lays out all the things you can try to kickstart your bluetooth. IF you have onboard or a 3rd party bluetooth device. Sorry about the ads.

Firstly BT was not in my machine, anywhere. Secondly I asked my guru to find me decent pair of BT speakers and a dongle. I picked them up today, plugged the BT dongle in paired and POW - beautiful crispy stereo. Sound I have in games never heard before. I got Logitech L207 BT Speakers. My thanks to all the replies and advice or suggestions. Appreciated

Dru. It may be different elsewhere but the is total ZERO BT in machine. After getting the dongle in and speaker. I checked Device Manager - recording BT now. Its not the MB, this is brand new top of the stack and it wasnt the previous MB either

One final thing I dont think I mentioned, Buzzing in old speakers which I could even imitate by holding jackplug, young lad in shop said it must ne a faulty cable. which I why I went for the L207 speakers. No more hard core connecting. Ahhhhhh bliss

It’s good when things just work out of the box. The buzzing is horrible. I was a muso when I was very young, the plugging in of a guitar to an amp, that initial noise haunts me.

To be clear, that was my point - Windows can't access what it doesn't have access to. You never had a BT device, and why I said....

As it turns out... it wasn't a "Windows" issue, but a hardware (lack thereof) issue as you never had a Bluetooth device.

No, you never had a BT device to allow Windows to work.

Any rate you got it working now... and learned something along the way

Just so you know, most older mice need the receiver (dongle) that came with the mouse.
What brand and model is it?

Remember you should not have more than 1 Bluetooth dongle! and the dongle can support up to 7 devices!

Yes, I have a BT mouse and hooked it up, but it was a bit erratic. Stops for a few seconds then carries on. So I switched it off and stayed with my wireless one.

I think you misunderstood his point as I think he misunderstood your earlier one mentioning you were going to connect your BT mouse/KB.

Yeah, you only need one Bluetooth dongle, but you can connect up to 7 devices to it.

As to intermittent issues - do make sure there isn't anything between the dongle and connecting device(s). Also the devices aren't too far away from the dongle. Additionally, check that the device doesn't require it's own driver. Double check instructions or the site where you got the dongle from.

I've never had a Bluetooth mouse that worked as good as a WiFi mouse. I stopped using them.
