    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Yeah, my pin cushion training will be going into overdrive soon. They're going to start offering Covid boosters here shortly, and every 3 months I have my regular blood work and a hormone therapy implant. 💉⚕️:(

Gosh...always something. I'm sorry you're having to be subjected to all that Bree. But I understand it's a necessity.

There is widespread talk of new Covid boosters here, as well. I have mixed feeling about it for myself/personally. Honestly, I doubt I'm going to take another. I heard on the news last night, they are even recommending Covid shots for babies 6 months old. I just have a hard time with that.

I understand, Mike. It is (or should be) a personal choice.

I would not venture to attempt to dissuade anyone from it, if that is what they and their doctor feel best. But for me personally, I am very skeptical. I followed the 'guidance' the first time around, but not this time.

Again, speaking solely for myself personally. :wink:


I do and will, get the annual flu shot.

We're finally getting down to the high 80s . . . I don't relish going into Winter, though. I still haven't adjusted to the cold with high humidity.

Three months??? I'm still getting stabbed every other Monday or so . . . at least I have a port, but that's a giant needle they use for my chemo bulb!

Yeah, I think our Covid boosters are going to be available around the end of this month. I'm gonna get mine over the objections of my daughter. Gotta be one of those in every family . . . :ffs:

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

No need to apologize, @Bree. I'm of the opinion that I also got off lightly. The cancer's gone and I'm getting treatments to keep it from coming back. My life is much better now than it was before and I have already added another year to my age. If the big C hadn't been discovered, I probably wouldn't be typing this post today.

BTW, my daughter Cyndi has been my rock. Whatever I need, she's there to help me get it.
