I still have my original Rubik Cube (and it's box) that I bought in 1980 for £5 (that's £27/$34 in today's money).

Like Erno Rubik himself, I had to work out how to solve it without any outside aid. Took me about 6 months to solve it for the first time. To this day I can reliably solve the first two layers and get all but the corners of the last layer correct. I never quite figured out how to solve these. I had found a few ways that, when applied at random, may (or may not) eventually luck out and solve it.

It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

My temps are back to near normal for the time of year, low 70's/high 60's for the foreseeable future (well, to the end of the month anyway).

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

Thanks, @Bree. It's much better this week than it was last week, so maybe I will be able to have the Chemo next Monday. Last week it was 0.73 and this week it's 1.18. Nurse said it needs to get to 1.5 for me to have Chemo, so I'm guessing I'll be there by Monday.

It's bad enough that my Oncologist doesn't want to send me into the cellar. :eek1:

From some of the research I did today, it looks like the Chemo is putting me in danger of infection by causing the dip in my white blood cells.

There are five results they keep track of, and all of them are quite low. So, I have to let my body get back up to normal.

Yes, chemo can supress the immune system. I had a 5 day course of Filgrastim after each chemo session to boost my immune system. I hated having to inject myself, but it seemed to work. My white blood cell count taken the day before each subsequent chemo was invariably higher than it was for the first blood test before the initial session.
