@Marie SWE, yes, we did get to the cafeteria, by the time all was said & done it was close to 4PM, so we had dinner there. We got cheeseburgers with onions on them & some fries. The food is good, however, a couple years ago they started air frying everything that's normally deep fried. Most of it is OK like the chicken nuggets, but the fries are not that good. They just don't taste right when air fried, that's something that should definitely be deep fried in oil.

I like onions on Burgers :-) so i can understand they was tasty :-)
I think i dont remember how classic fried fries taste like.. I have not eaten that since 2013 or 2012. :-) So air fried would probibly fool me 2026 *LOL* 😅

Morning Marie.

My Wife is a fan of onions, especially the red ones.

Been a while since I had some real fries since we don't go out anymore. :(. We used to go out & eat on a regular basis, but that doesn't happen anymore. We're both basically stuck in the house.

The wound care said that despite the bleeding, the wound looks good & they changed the dressing types to put on. The donor site on top of the leg looks very good, they said aside from a couple small spots it looks almost healed. We have to put medical grade honey on a couple areas of it. Yes, they have that, medical honey for wounds. The endocrinologist say her A1C is looking good & the primary doc says she will help us any way she can, trying to keep the nurses coming in to our house.

I, on the other hand, am pretty much exhausted & sore from yesterday. I'm tired most of the time because taking care of someone full time is hard to do & there's a lot involved, especially when they don't have mobility. I'm feeling a bit depressed for the past couple weeks, but I'm doing the best i can, taking it day by day.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

Glad to hear everything went well.

It's still technically classed as a heatwave here, but it's only meeting the threshold temperature late in the afternoon. The mornings are comfortable for going outside and getting things done.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    I've now clean installed 25H2 and used Garlin's scripts to update Secure Boot to CA 2023 and revoke the PCA 2011 certificates. It's new role is to test secure boot issues.

I just installed a BIOS Update, so all of the issues that I tried to fix were really not fixable.👍

My Wife is a fan of onions, especially the red ones.

Been a while since I had some real fries since we don't go out anymore. :(. We used to go out & eat on a regular basis, but that doesn't happen anymore. We're both basically stuck in the house.

The wound care said that despite the bleeding, the wound looks good & they changed the dressing types to put on. The donor site on top of the leg looks very good, they said aside from a couple small spots it looks almost healed. We have to put medical grade honey on a couple areas of it. Yes, they have that, medical honey for wounds. The endocrinologist say her A1C is looking good & the primary doc says she will help us any way she can, trying to keep the nurses coming in to our house.

I, on the other hand, am pretty much exhausted & sore from yesterday. I'm tired most of the time because taking care of someone full time is hard to do & there's a lot involved, especially when they don't have mobility. I'm feeling a bit depressed for the past couple weeks, but I'm doing the best i can, taking it day by day.

Sadly i know the feeling with, stuck in the house.. but for me its an apartment.. So i totally get that one.

I'm glad to hear they said the wound looks good :-) :-) i hope it heal soon so you can put that evil wound behind you.

Sad to hear you feeling a bit depressed, i hope you find something fun to do to lift the spirit a bit :-) 🫂

You can always jump on Linux and a VM enterprise server setup and you will be mentally occupied for weeks. 😁

Well, hopefully your mornings are cool at least. The days here starts hot & humid with thick air. but that's summer on the E Coast. :rolleyes:

The next couple doc visits down the road are going to be tele visits, so she won't have to leave the house for those. She does have to go back to the wound clinic in a month, no way around that, they need to physically see & treat the wound. But they did send instructions to the nursing staff that visits the house once a week.

Yeah, well with Windows, there's always a problem or 3 that needs addressed :mad: so yeah I know about staying mentally occupied.

Doc gave me some low dose anti-depressants, so hopefully that'll help a bit. Like i said, taking it one day at a time....

The problem with windows is that its easier.. as we have more experience of it, and Linux becomes harder as you cant solve things in Linux the same way you do in Windows.. so it becomes a new way of thinking, so it becomes a bigger challenge :-) and that can be both fun and really frustrating. *lol* 😅

Yeah I have Linux on the PC, haven't played with it for a while. I wonder if they still teach in in college, about 12 years ago when I was attending to get my computer degree they had classes for it.

I don't want to be too much of a downer in the room so I'll keep our probs to a minimum. ;-)

I think they still have Linux classes as Linux is big in the server world.. so i think that is here to stay :-) Linux as Desktop... yeah that one might take a few years more.. But if Microsoft continue to mess up, the adoption may start to go faster.

No worry, no one of us feel you is a downer.. and sometimes it just nice to chat away about nothing at all to get a few minutes to think about something else. :-) At lest that is how it is for me. :-)
Edit: i think they call it to flee the reality for a while. :-)

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.
