Yes, I've seen that too. The way 3x3x3 cubing competitions are judged is that you make 5 solves, then the fastest and slowest are discarded. Your score is the average of the 3 remaining solves. She set the record for the fastest average for any female cuber.

At age six, Lian Yunzhi has become the only female cuber in the world to have an average time under 4.5 seconds. She first broke the record with an average of 4.52 seconds and then 4.27 seconds at competitions in Wuhan and Guangzhou, China.

Six-year-old girl from China breaks Rubik's Cube world record

For a single solve for the 3x3x3 cube she ranks 17th in the world with a time of 3.54 seconds, according to her World Cubing Association record.

The world record of 2.76 seconds is held by a 9 year old boy from Poland.

Well, they did an X Ray at the hosp, she has Plantar fasciitis

She's going to need to see a podiatrist about that.....and here we are wondering, if she can barely stand how we're going to get her there. I asked if they could treat her in the ER, they don't do that there, it's an outpatient thing. She literally has one good leg to stand on & now that has a heel spur.

The doc says the podiatrist might be able to ease it with a cortisone shot. She's already putting up a fight saying she can't do it, she refuses to go, it'll be really hard.

And I'm like it's only going to get worse, you need to buckle up & get it taken care of.

She has a tele-visit with her primary doc morrow, maybe her doc can talk some sense into her, although I doubt it's going to happen.

I'm going to fix her an ice pack, the release insts say ice & heat may help.

We can hope the doc can convince her. as it is needed to be take cared off.
I also had to search for the wording before i saw what it is called in common swedish (Hälsporre) I know people that have had that, so its not forever even it does need some care to get rid off... and just waiting for it to heal itself can take a year or two.. so treatment is a good thing as it is a lot shorter time.
Scare tactics can often work.. if coming from a doctor how long it will take untreated VS treated then she might listen. ask the doctor in the tele-visit.

I hope and wish that it will heal fast, as she already have suffer wayyyyyyyyyyy to much already with everything.

I added System Rescue and Trinity Rescue to my Ventoy.
I tried Cinnamon but the black/white background was too much for my 82 year old eyes and I couldn't think of a way to make it more viewable. I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have -- you're infinitely more technically advanced based on observation of your list and comments regarding contents you can't mention on the forum.

So true.. the most tech seriously happening here is those times i have abused some Operating system and post my doings as entertainment for you guys.
But i have to say it was pretty smart move by Barebear to post in this thread, as it is a 99.9% chance i will see the post, while posting in General support or similar is a low chance i will see it as I'm mostly here to be social.. So pretty smart move. *LOL*

Yeah, about what i can not mention on the forum..
I have been in IT since the late 90's and after i got sick with Hypothyroidism that the treatment dont work to well.. i stopped working in IT.. but as i am one of those that never want to stop learning i dived in to IT-security and pentesting.. or ethical hacking.
It is a really interesting rabbit hole, but that topic is not a good topic in here, as the only difference between ethical hackers and evil hackers is only the state of mind of the person..... The tools and how you do it is identical.
So i agree with the admins in here that i should not go in on that subject. Rule 4 is a good rule
And that is why i mention i can not show a printscreen of my ventoy as it does contain ISO's and also Portable tools for both Windows and Linux for hacking.

With that said.. Lets see what your question was.
I have not really used the Desktop-Environment Cinnamon in a long time. I came in contact with that on the Linux Distro LMDE3 back in 2019.. but i did not like the layout and theming so i installed the DE Xfce instead on LMDE after a few hours.
Most DE's today (Cinnamon/Gnome/KDE/Xfce etc.) often have different theming under settings for colors, contrast and scaling, so you should be able to change it to something that fitting your needs.
I never use scaling..... i often cheat by changing the screen resolution to fit the size of the screen i have to the computer.. I love to cheat when i can. *LOL*
I did not know Cinnamon had a black/white background. What Linux distribution are you using?

I have been bored almost the whole day.. i can't dig into my computer projects as i have started to unplug parts of the network.. and i can't power on my new low-power server cluster i started on.. So no fun local AI.. no big network drives so i can create new VM's.. and no local space on my laptops so i can run a VM there..... I'm bored as i can't abuse stuff for now. *LOL*
