Hello, fellow ninjas
Today's highlights include warmer weather and the dismantling of the Thermal Core X71 build. The Ryzen 7 7800X3D is definitely a perky little gaming chip but I've never been a big fan of integrated graphics. IMO a CPU should be just that: Central Processing Unit. The one advantage is if your GPU craters there's a chance you can still have some measure of graphics without the GPU. So now the case is in pieces and I've been consulting with the princess as to what she wants in the genre of ARGB. She doesn't want the original fans because they aren't RGB and they aren't red. I'm half tempted to just pull the board and put the whole thing in her old case but it doesn't look like the Noctua NH-D15 cooler would fit the case. There is no disputing that a chip that will run @ 5GHz is worthy of a good cooler so she's stuck with X71. Decisions, decisions.... Perhaps I should get the camera and take some pics to better explain these challenges. Oh, the joys of being a PC builder!

- Gave Dell touch screen with Windows 11 to daughter and got me an OTVOC. Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
