    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

    My SYSTEM FIVE is a Dell Latitude 3190 2-in-1, Pentium Silver N5030, 8GB RAM, 1TB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro, plus Insider Beta, Dev, and Canary builds (and a few others) as a native boot .vhdx.

    My SYSTEM SIX is a Dell Latitude 5550, Core Ultra 7 165H, 64GB RAM, 1TB NVMe SSD, supported device, Windows 11 Pro 24H2, Hyper-V host machine. Updated to 25H2 on 30th September 2025.

    My SYSTEM SEVEN is a Lenovo Thinkpad T580, Intel Core i7-8650U, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD + 2nd 512GB NVMe SSD, a supported device for Windows 11. This is my current general purpose 'main machine'. The installed Windows 11 Home from my System One has been migrated to this machine.

We seem to get good nights and bad nights, there doesn't seem to be any pattern to it, we have tried varying the feeding time, putting out extra peanuts when the foxes are about, all the obvious things. These guys aren't bothered by the deer

Thanks. If anything my white blood cell count from yesterday's pre-chemo blood test was higer than before my first one, which must be a good thing.....

Yes, it's a machine for mine too.

I seem to be able to move my arm without an alarm sounding. The only alarm that does go off is for the timer to say it's done its work.

The one I have sounds an alarm if you move too much and it affects the flow, mine takes 2 hours so I like watching the timer count down at the end as sometimes it races to catch up

My daughter has left now after spending an afternoon of 'quality (?) time'. Her idea of quality time was to sort out a load of old junk that I'd not got round to yet and take it to the tip :wink:

She's staying overnight at an old friend and will be back in the morning. We plan to have some real quality time then with a walk in the countryside, visiting some old favourite haunts of ours. (y)

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2, and 25H2 on 30th September 2025 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 25H2.

    UPDATE - 11 April 2026: due to mechanical deterioration this PC has been retired from active duty. The OS with all software and files has been migrated to my System Seven in 'Other systems' to carry on as my general purpose 'main machine'.

It used to be me that regularly visited her and the grandchildren.
Now she's coming to me instead we can have more uninterrupted one-to-one time.

They are still doing conduit installs, pedestals installs, conduit to conduit connections and finally fibre pulling. They haven't even dug all the holes for individual homes. The number of connections are staggering and with all the rain it is miserable work. To connect that drop that I showed a picture of they actually lie on the wet ground. Conduit to conduit requires them to connect fifteen individual connections.

In the rain like this they vacuum the water out of the hole and within minutes it is filling back in. Water can't be allowed to get into individual conduits so work must be slow.

I'll bet they are a month away.

My current ISP agreed to re-instate my discounts so I'm cool. Of course this might change if they give me an unbelievable price with some price guarantees.

Bell, the company, is spending like there is no tomorrow. My brother lives in another region and they are doing the same in his neighbourhood. Basically thousands of homes.
