Good morning, folks. It’s good to see everyone and critters. Gracie and Lucy say hi to their fellow fur babies.

I guess I need to ‘fess up, since I’ve been kinda MIA for the past several months.

I was diagnosed with colo-rectal cancer in June and have had surgery, radiation (5 days a week for five weeks) and mini chemotherapy along with it.

Chemo was to help the radiation do its job. I have a “port” that was surgically implanted in my right shoulder, then a huge “port needle” is stabbed into the port. Attached to the needle is a mini chemo ball that lived with me 24/7 (changed out every Monday).

I had my last radiation treatment Monday, November 28 and got the chemo ball removed that same day! The port will remain for the foreseeable future.

I don’t know if it was “chemo withdrawal” or if I picked up a bug somewhere, but it got pretty rough the past few days. I’m slowly coming back, though, and feel a bit better each day. Except for the radiation burns . . . Ouch! I'm sure they will eventually heal.

I will have an MRI on December 14 to assess how well the radiation/chemo has worked. From there, we will decide if I need more surgery . . . or if we killed the cancer.

Through this journey, I have met some of the most caring and dedicated medical personnel in the world! The Carti Cancer Center in Little Rock, Arkansas is the best!

Good morning Wynona, it's great to have you back.

As you know, I had my own chemo over the same period. I was lucky and suffered none of the potential debilitating side effects.

Good night Charlie.

That's 9pm your time, I'm a night owl and only just getting into my stride by then. Somewhere between midnight and 2am is more usual for me. No wonder we seem to be online at roughly the same time, despite living in different time zones
