I grab the .exe

I use the distribution folder to stop the auto-updates.
Just drop it into: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Has to be redone after each manual update, ofc.

This is what is IN the Distribution folder... (policies.json (open with notepad))
If a lot of extensions are used... you might want to change ExtensionUpdate to true

Same here. Apparently, if you use the msi installer, it will perform a cleaner un-install, when necessary.

That, I dunno. IF I ever want to completely un-install Firefox, I just use Revo Uninstaller.

except the new changes they have made are less then stellar....

the download management changes... the ones where it will only download to a single download location...
I use a lot of different storage folders for different apps and types... to organize it all..

this is the last straw... the camel is dead.. and Mozilla has decided to take away another must have feature for me..
I need a new browser...

One feature I like in Firefox is, PIP goes full screen with just a double click!

... she's pretty hungry doin it in 4K though!

I don't use that feature myself but I do empathize with you. Sadly there really is only Mozilla and Chromium all the other flavors out there for the most part are some flavor of Chromium or Mozilla. The few browsers that are truly their own can be quite dangerous as critical exploits could be known but due to the team not having enough programmers and user base the updates might not get updated quickly.

The writing is on the wall though that Mozilla too is on its last dying legs. Many of the Chromium programmers appear to work at Mozilla too and each build Firefox takes on the appearance and methods of Chromium. Sooner or later there won't be much reason to use Firefox as it will mimic Chromium completely.

I don't use Chromium. Firefox is very good for me after I have whipped it into the shape I like
