Has anyone ever seen this before, it was updating and I think it got to 66% but I was looking at something else while it was updating and saw this...

Update:
I hit F5 to refresh and this time, it updated fast as it went to 62% then 69%, 79%, 82% and then 100% in less than 20 seconds flat compared to previous updates which always took a few minutes and this time it skipped 66%.

Yes, I have seen it and it usually happens when checking for updates before Edge is fully loaded.

Interesting, in my case, my Edge closes with the About Edge page as a tab so when I open Edge, that tab will automatically open.

Same issue as mentioned in post #1505 as it happened with both updating from v117.0.2026.0 and v117.0.2031.0 after the update automatically downloads when Microsoft Edge Canary is opened which has a tab going to edge://settings/help that is restored when Microsoft Edge is opened.

The last two updates have been almost a full re-install rather than the ones before, which are incremental and smaller.
I haven't experienced the issues you are facing but the possibility of the cause is in post #15506.

How did you figure out how big the install size actually is? Yes, Pos #15506 was in response to the first time I saw the problem. When I check for updates, most of the time my Edge Canary is not running while the update service runs in the background so I usually start Edge Canary which will load up 4 tabs, the first one is the About Edge Canary page which checks for updates when the page is loaded so if it is updating before Edge fully loads, it is not the user who is loading the page too fast. Do you usually update while Edge is already opened as that may be the difference? It seemed I was already upgraded to v117.0.2033.0 Canary when I open it now and there's a new version that updated successfully without the error which I will post in the next message. So perhaps someone else reported the issue and Microsoft fixed it.

Yes, stable version. I did turn off Discovery in Group Policy a couple weeks back, so that might be the setting you are looking for.
