This isn't necessarily always true either. It depends.

That plus the very heavy discount I got from a reputable online retailer were the main reasons why I grabbed the 2TB 980 PRO in 2021. So, no argument there.

It already went off-topic a few times in the past. As long as it's still about Samsung SSDs, I don't think I'll lose sleep over it anytime soon. :-)

All this bickering just because I mentioned that Samsung Drives You do pay a little more for their drives but it's worth it for stability, performance and reliability.

What bickering? Just because I can't see the part about pricings of the other brands, doesn't mean that I am bickering about it. Maybe some space debris is interfering with the internet connection between my laptop and the online retailers that are located on the other side of the globe. 🙃

Just got an update to 9.0.1 on one machine but no Release notes available yet as the Samsung link in the 1st post of this thread still lists 9.0.0 as the latest version.

The install using the updater from within Samsung Magician did a roll back to v9.0.0..??
what gives?! I choose to overwrite the existing install...
then it rolled back to v9.0.0

ok it worked the second time after choose to run as administrator.
though I am the only account on this PC so I am an admin anyway...
and run the separate installer this time too.

I haven't encountered the problem that you are experiencing. I just did the following:
  1. Right-click on the systray icon > Exit
  2. Run "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Samsung\Samsung Magician\SamsungMagician.exe"
  3. Confirm the UAC prompt
  4. Wait for Samsung Magician to load
  5. In Home Dashboard, click on the Update button at the top
  6. Click on the blue button to start updating
I did have to click on Home Dashboard > Drive refresh each time after exit/restart Samsung Magician, though. Then suddenly, after a few times exit/restart, like magic (lol) it started to load the Home Dashboard correctly instead of showing a blank widgets area each time upon starting Samsung Magician. Now it automagically sees my 2TB 980 Pro almost immediately each time after it launches. Just gotta love the magic I guess. :D

i still run one 970 EVO, always says diagnostic scan not supported. I have 5 other SSD drives. Samsung is dependable. So Far, but so are the other SSD brands I own and use.
