Well guess if i can relax, then i'll wait, but i'm type of person that goes a little nuts if something isn't fully up to date right away lol, but i will do my best to wait i suppose as definitely not having any issues

As a workaround, you can temporarily disable Secure Boot in your BIOS.

To run Samsung Magician as an administrator, right-click on its icon in the Notification Area of the Taskbar and choose Exit, then find its desktop shortcut and right-click on that, choose Run as administrator, and confirm the UAC prompt that appears.

Samsung Magician is great for firmware updates on new drives. Once the firmware updates dry up, it's no longer useful to me.

That's me, though not as hardcore as I used to be. Now, I'm far more patient, especially where I have no issues.

Decided to try the USB Method, Used Co-Pilot to get information on how to properly disable briefly Secure Boot, then the flash drive booted without issue, and successfully updated my Samsung 990 Pro 2TB NVMe, now both are on the same Firmware!

Then i followed the Co-Pilot instructions on how to re enable secure boot, and seems like all is well now!, and i can fully relax lol.

maybe i won't wake up at 7am everyday now and check Magician, and maybe i'll sleep better at night now lol, i know i didn't have to go thru the trouble of using USB method, but i'm still the anxious type when it comes to updates, if something isn't fully up to date, it bugs me constantly

Mine updated via Magician, originally tried the ISO root but it would fail with a critical error trying to boot from the USB. Tried numerous USB drives always the same issue. Updating the firmware via magician is odd, as the machine shuts down during the update process, and you have to manually restart, other firmware updates usually restart on their own.

Odd from all the reports of SSD issues with recent Windows 11 version, I was under the impression the Samsung 990 Pro drives were not affected.

Okay, I need some help as when I tried to use Magician to update the firmware on a 990 Pro 4TB, it will show:

So I click on the Update button and it does the Downloading firmware and Updating firmware but then shows:

This is while booted into Windows 11, so how would I update the firmware? I thought it was because of the NVMe driver because of this:

but then I realize that the Samsung NVMe driver does not support the 990 Pro at all as on Samsung's website, it says:
This driver supports Samsung NVMe™ SSD 970 PRO, 970 EVO, 970 EVO Plus, 960 PRO, 960 EVO and 950 PRO

I already tried the Update 3 times before and after rebooting and 3 times while running Magician as admin and it still fails. I never knew the firmware section on their website was really a ISO and will probably try it soon.

just fine thru Magician

did have to shutdown in between both drives, but thats ok, used that time while it was off, to clean my Front Fan Filter, and PSU Filter, put those back, reloaded back up, did Drive #2, then went to do something else in Real Life, then came back, and got back to usual Tasks on Desktop

I would think so, as mine always had Standard NVM Express Controllers in that area, but my system is also AMD Ryzen 7 7700X AM5 Based Desktop, on a MSI Pro B650 VC Wifi Rev 1.0 Motherboard. As to how you get them to show that im not entirely sure on, as normally i'd think they'd show by Default.

I am on a notebook that uses the Intel Coffee Lake-H chipset so it may be different on the Intel side or the Intel RST drivers. Only had the drive a few weeks and it works fine.

No luck with the Samsung_SSD_990_PRO_7B2QJXD7.iso either using Rufus in the Image writint mode, the one that is not dd which had the same results as using the same .iso under VenToy Grub2 mode...

I also just use the standard Microsoft Standard NVM Express Controller (As Always with all my Windows Versions)
My Desktops are all Asus Motherboards with Intel 11th & 12th Gen's and all have i9 CPU's
