Left and right option is not working in Windows 11

Hey guys,

After the last update left and right option in File Explorer is not working in Windows 11. Hence up and down is working.

Any idea how to fix it ?

By Left and Right do you mean the scrollbar at the bottom of File Explorer? That doesn't usually show if the panel is Maximized, reducing the width with the Restore icon top right corner should make it show up then drag the scrollbar as desired. Or do you mean you are using one of the mouses that has that feature on the wheel?

I meant left and right in file explorer by using laptop touchpad up and down feature.

I have an older Lenovo IdeaPad and the only left and right scrolling I get with various mice is when the text is larger than a screen can hold, some is hidden beyond the edge/s and the L/R scrollbar becomes visible then I can drag that left and right.

Screenshot wont show anything as I do up and down scroll bar from touchpad but its not in working in File Explorer.

Is it working in the web browser or anywhere else? What happens if you increase the size of the file explorer?

Can you do a test using a mouse? If it works with a mouse it could be a driver problem for the touchpad. If the right left scrolling works with the mouse try removing the touchpad in Device Manager and restarting the laptop.

Mouse scrolling works on left and right.

Hi there
The bog standard synaptics mouse driver is usually pretty generic for most rodents so try installing that one. Alternatively I've found on some laptops simply removing the touchpad driver completely or disabling the driver and re-booting clears the problem even for the touchpad. (I hate using those BTW -- give me a wireless mouse any day).
