The best browser is the one where the user practises common-sense safe computing.

Outside that, no browser is going to offer absolute protection against user click-mania.

Certainly true. My main interest is tracking protection, adware, etc.

Same applies.

But in any case; most browsers allows addons/extensions to minimise this (browsers, despite their differnt flavours, are just about all Chromium or Mozilla based. Addons/extensions for either type fit browsers of respective base)

I would say that the main advantage of LibreWolf is, that it can not be setup wrong, all bad setting were removed.
Particularly interested in self updating and other pros and cons. One user stated he does not self update, just installs new version upon release.
Indeed, other browsers install services to update, which is sort of bad when talking about tracking. I use winget to update it automatically, you can try WingetUI, but winget is maintained by volunteers, so it is not always updated ASAP. I am currently at version 120, though version 121 was released 2 weeks ago. For keeping track of apps updates, Softpedia's watchlist is the best option.

You should start at DNS level, it protects PC against tracking and malware and it does not affect performance.
I use NextDNS and I actually use different browsers for different purposes to limit tracking.
Edge (FB/Google blocked), Brave for YouTube & LibreWolf for FB (rest of the internet blocked).

Could you all please give a brief summary of pros and cons.
It's what Brave is to Chrome, a privacy-focused browser but forked from Firefox instead.

One user stated he does not self update, just installs new version upon release. Thanks !
There is no self-update with LibreWolf, as mentioned on their FAQ page:

How often do you update LibreWolf?

LibreWolf is always based on the latest version of Firefox. Updates usually come within three days from each upstream stable release, at times even the same day. Unless problems arise, we always try to release often and in a timely manner.

It should however be noted that LibreWolf does not have auto-update capabilities, and therefore it relies on package managers or users to apply them.
