I don't know when this problem started - spent some time in hospital this summer, so I may have missed something.

Dell XPS 15, i9, 32GB, 1TB SSD Windows 11 Home Ver 24H2

In Services, Geolocation Service is running.

In Windows Settings, Location Service is turned On. Apps including Chrome (set as default) and Edge have permission. Default Location is set to my home, FWIW.

In Chrome, Settings/Privacy and Security/Site Settings/Location, no sites are listed as "Not allowed" or "Allowed". I'm set to "Sites can ask for your location".

Except they can't.

For instance: in Google Maps, when I click on the "Show your Location" icon at bottom right, I get "Google Maps does not have permission to use your location".

I've followed the "Learn More", and I end up going round in circles.

Another example: lightningmaps.org has radio buttons for Show Position (Off or On), except I can't select On.

These screenshots are from Chrome, but I get exactly the same from Edge. I also tried Firefox; same result. All browsers are up to date.

I don't know what else to try. Any ideas?
