I have a Lock Screen Question I've been meaning to ask. When it prompts for the PIN/Password - is there a way to back out to see the description such as location of the lock screen image?

I'm assuming you're using the "Windows Spotlight" images. Go ahead and log in; then press WINDOWS KEY + L to get back to the lock screen and see the same image. (Unless Windows decides to change the image on you.)

Hello, :-)

Usually, if you let it sit idle on the sign in screen for a minute, it will automatically return to the lock screen.

Yes, Windows deciding to change the image on me is what I am worried about since a lot of times, I meant to click to get the description of the image but it actually went to the PIN/Password prompt instead. Thanks also for the terminology of what those images were called.

It may be a stupid question. But what is the use of the Lock Screen?
i have it disabled by default in my Group Policy Editor because I don’t like to switch multiple screens before my laptop opens up. With it disabled, I immediate end up at the sign-in screen. Why does Microsoft/Windows first want you to see this useless lock-screen?

Now I noticed why sometimes I am in the PIN prompt when I click the mouse as it appears sometimes there is nothing to click on at the upper right hand corner of the screen which usually shows the location and allows you to like/dislike the image as feedback. That option is not always there.

@BakRest I also got rid of the lock screen and the sign in screen, so now I just turn it on and by the time I got my glasses on it's ready to rock :D

you can remove lock screen blur to seen picture at logon. Attached is a registry tweak to enable or disable blurr
I prefer group policy over registry however:
Computer Configuration > Aministrative Templates > System > Logon.
Show clear logon background policy enable
reboot or use cmd gpupate /force

if your chosen picture is not consistantly displayed you can force a default in gpo as well
Computer Configuration > Control Panel > Policies > Personalization
select force a specific default lock screen and logon image - enable
enter path for your image and apply
reboot or use cmd gpupate /force

You can even make a slide show with your own pictures.
Or you can get more of the same type at the Store.
Those pictures are somewhere on our PC`s, Shawn will probably know where :)

Well, that's not solving the problem. I want to see those pictures for a reason as it's random and also it's like discovering new things as well as learning what and where it came from. The photos are on the PC but there are times when my display on a notebook went to sleep and as soon as I click the mouse, it will already be at the PIN as usually it requires hitting the enter key to get the PIN login prompt. Also, safer to have the PC on a lock screen so it prevents unauthorized access should other people who may visit touch the machine when I am not here for example. Just like on a Unix box, there is a login.
