Looking for advice on changing partition structure during the restore of a backup

I have a friend who has a partition structure like this:

Recovery Tools
EFI
MSR
Windows Partition
Recovery Tools

Somehow, he started off with a small recovery tools partition (about 550 MB). When this was insufficiently sized, Windows created a new Recovery Tools partition at the end of the disk.

However, my friend wants to migrate this desktop PC to a laptop. I initially thought about simply doing a backup and restoring it to the laptop, then add the proper drivers for the laptop by simply importing a backup of the drivers. However, I would like to dump that initial Recovery tools partition.

Does anyone know how to best accomplish this?

Don't know what you use to make backup but if Haselo or Macrum, you can resize and rearrange partitions during a restore of the image. I can't speak for what other imaging apps can do. It's what I did when I bought a larger nvme and it worked great so I didn't have to mess with enlarging partitions manually afterwards, I do strongly suggest you make that EFI partition larger since the laptop will be OEM and getting numerous uefi bios updates.. I made mine 500mb.
Since I had the drive space, something else I did to prevent Windows from creating another recovery partition in the future. I made my recovery partition 1.5 gb during restore.

One question, though. How are you going to handle the licensing? Is the old computer same version of Windows? I think you may have a problem there unless he's now using a retail license..
We all do things differently but I would never move an old installation and all the years of junk that's accumulated onto a brand new machine. I have always felt a new machine deserves to be clean from the get-go. JMO so don't cuss the messenger.
