Installed the M.2 Drive today. Windows 11 works fine with it. . . I made a boo boo though. Username was created with the first 5 letters of my email address, so I did some registry hacks, and changed it, but ended up messing things up, so i'm having to redo everything again. Oh well! lol

If you ever do that again, first install the OS with a local account so you can call it what you want. Then add the MS account/email and it will keep what you had.

To add to @f14tomcat ’s post, to use a local account follow these steps..

  1. When getting to the sign in prompt, enter [email protected]
  2. Enter any password. I usually put abc, or password etc.
  3. An error will occur, since [email protected] does not exist
  4. Finally create the local account
This is what I always opt for.

ALTERNATIVELY
  1. Do not connect to internet
  2. will not allow you to create ms account
